The Perry Street Software Globalization Team works with the cutting edge of localization and internationalization technologies. We use a combination of engineer-friendly third-party localization tools and proprietary software to ensure seamless localized content delivery in 15+ languages. We believe that people do their best work when given ownership over that work, and we expect each team member to take an active role in shaping our tools and processes.
We are hiring a Localization Program Coordinator to help us run day-to-day localization operations for the next generation of LBGTQ+ dating apps. This role requires an experienced localization professional who enjoys solving problems both collaboratively and independently. This is not an isolated role -- you will work with every team in the company and have ample opportunities to learn about every aspect of the business. What you'll do:
- Collaborate with Perry Street teams to meet translation needs for all content types (app and web strings, support articles, surveys, marketing collateral, multilingual advertisements, etc.)
- Manage the day-to-day continuous localization workflow
- Help plan and execute the launch of new languages
- Curate source strings in our TMS (labels, hidden strings, pluralized strings, etc)
- Communicate with our LSP about deadlines and delays
- Prepare complex translation jobs (surveys, support articles)
- Process translation feedback and communicate it to the agency
- Work with the LSP on translation memory cleanups
- Prepare and execute periodic translation reviews with marketing reps and review contractors
- Collect and update screenshot context for every string in the client
- Review and approve weekly translation downloads
- Assist Globalization Manager with special projects

Who you are:
- Someone with a Bachelor's degree in linguistics, a specific language, translation, or localization, or equivalent experience
- Someone with 3 years of direct experience in a translation or localization role
- Someone with at least 1 year of experience in software localization
- Experienced in managing translation and transcreation through external LSPs and freelance translators for multiple languages
- Able to work collaboratively with internal operations, content, and technical teams, as well as external vendors and contractors
- Experienced in establishing and documenting localization processes
- Able to hold teams accountable to a high quality standard
- Comfortable with ambiguity and determining your own requirements for a project
Nice to Have:
- You know what i18n and l10n mean
- Deep interest in languages and linguistics
- Proficient in a language other than English
- Lots of experience using translation management systems (TMS)
- Knowledgeable about content management systems (CMS)
- Some experience using design tools such as Figma or Adobe Illustrator
- Any experience using terminal languages like bash and git
- Any experience with GitHub and making pull requests
