Job Description

Localization Program Manager, Growth - Contract, CTH or FTE Remote - USA
About Brave

Brave is on a mission to protect the human right to privacy online. We’ve built a free web browser that blocks creepy ads and trackers by default, a private search engine with a truly independent index, a browser-native crypto wallet, and a private ad network (opt-in!) that directly rewards you for your attention. And we’re just getting started. Already 50 million people have switched to Brave for a faster, more private web. Millions more switch every month.

The internet is a sea of ads, hackers, and echo chambers. Big Tech makes huge profits off our data, and tells us what’s true and what’s not. Brave is fighting back. Join us!

Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) program manager to join the Growth team. As the Localization Program Manager, Growth, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of internationalization and localization projects for our company. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of localized products and services to our global customer base. This role requires exceptional project management skills, a deep understanding of internationalization and localization processes, hands-on experience in executing projects, and expertise in linguistic quality assurance (LQA) for day-to-day operations.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive i18n/l10n strategy aligned with company goals and objectives

  • Manage end-to-end localization projects, including planning, resource allocation, budgeting, risk management, and LQA

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate localization requirements into product development cycles

  • Coordinate with external vendors and language service providers (LSPs) for translations, terminology management, and linguistic testing

  • Drive the selection and implementation of localization tools and technologies to optimize efficiency and quality

  • Establish and maintain localization standards, best practices, and guidelines for linguistic assets, style guides, and terminology management

  • Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular reports to stakeholders

  • Prioritize and manage experiments and optimize content for outcomes aligned with company goals

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

  • Deep knowledge of i18n and localization processes, tools, and industry standards (e.g. translation management systems [TMS])

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and external vendors

  • Experience in linguistic quality assurance (LQA) processes and best practices

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze project metrics and data for continuous improvement

Nice to haves
  • Proficiency in at least one foreign language is a plus.

  • Certifications in localization, project management, or related fields are desirable.

If you are a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with a passion for internationalization and localization, we would love to hear from you. Join our team and play a key role in ensuring our products and services are successfully adapted for global markets.

Working at Brave
  • Industry-leader in privacy, with a research and engineering team that’s innovating everyday to keep people safer online and beat Big Tech

  • Highly competitive salaries & benefits, and generous home-office stipends

  • Fully remote team (no office, no commute)

  • Welcoming, humble, ridiculously smart teammates, and a truly flat org structure

  • Opportunity to get in early at a hyper-growth company, and revolutionize the web

  • Oh, and did we mention Brendan, our CEO & co-founder, invented JavaScript?
