The Boomi Managed Cloud Services Team is looking for a Support Operations Engineer with a passion for delivering customer excellence.  The Support Operations Engineer is responsible for providing a world-class support experience, managing customer expectations, and resolving challenging issues for customers of the Boomi Managed Cloud Service based in the Western United States.


Support Operations Engineer

The successful candidate possesses the following characteristics:

  • Passionate about customer and internal teams engagement and collaboration

  • Identifying root causes in areas such as installation, configuration, customization, and performance across both infrastructure and application layers

  • Inquisitive and ability to learn and absorb details quickly

  • Team player who wants to learn from others as much as sharing knowledge with the rest of the team in structured and unstructured setting


You will:

  • Build Boomi Clouds based on predefined configuration via Ansible

  • Remote diagnostic technical support of the Boomi Managed Cloud Service

  • Respond to customer technical problems/issues related to Networking, Infrastructure and application errors associated with Boomi Clouds

  • Recreate, identify and provide input on unique or recurring customer problems

  • Apply diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes and recommend solutions to correct failures

  • Document problems in the support solution database for diagnostics and solution implementation


Technical Requirements:

  • Experience monitoring production application systems, performance optimization, root cause analysis, and advanced troubleshooting

  • Experience supporting production Java runtimes (JVMs)

  • Intermediate to advanced experience with the Linux operating system (RHEL preferred).  High comfort with administering operating system environments at the command level

  • Fundamental understanding of Computer Architectures, Cloud-based technologies, virtual computing and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, SSH, NFS or NetApp) 

  • 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience in Customer Support or DevOps

  • Boomi Runtime Architecture Proficiency and Systems Administration certification


Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience with solutions such as New Relic, Splunk and Wavefront are a plus

  • Familiarity with Ansible, Python and Jenkins

  • Experience with troubleshooting Kubernetes and/or other similar containerized services

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or similar discipline

Compensation:
Boomi is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The minimum base compensation for this position in our corporate headquarters in Chesterbrook, PA begins at $106,134 annually + applicable annual bonus. This position is remote-friendly and, as such, final compensation will be determined by various factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
