Trilogy Federal is looking for a motivated and independent Management Consultant to support a variety of projects across a large program. The ideal candidate will have outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, experience in consulting and project management, and a desire to learn and contribute. The selected candidate will have an important role on a high-performing team improving healthcare for Veterans. In this role, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to travel to different VA medical centers actively using anew and robust Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This role involves examining current processes and procedures, reviewing implementation activities, presenting findings to VA leadership, and creating solutions to streamline processes.

The position has a hybrid schedule of up to 50% onsite, interstate travel support with an anticipated monthly schedule of business travel for 1 week, 2-3 weeks of telework from home, and another 1 week of business travel. No weekend travel is planned, excluding unforeseen travel delay issues. Approved travel costs will be reimbursed by Trilogy. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Management Consultant for an initiative focused on Veteran healthcare. 
  • Travel to 1-2 VA Medical Centers (VAMCs) per month for site assessment, planning, and implementation activities in support of electronic health record modernization initiatives. 
  • Execute site assessments, document workflows, and present findings. 
  • Develop artifacts for site assessment planning and implementation, including checklists and assessment plans.
  • Collaborate with VAMC leadership and staff to document workflows, escalate issues and risks, and complete assessments. 
  • Share findings and coordinate site visits/communications with other teams. 
  • Conduct analysis of specific issues and identification of alternatives.
  • Create and present executive-level briefings on project status, risks, issues, and strategies.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to government personnel and large teams.
  • Learn business processes, systems, and goals to develop a deep understanding of the client environment.
  • Assist in risk management activities including identifying, mitigating, and escalating risks. 
  • Support meetings for assigned projects including drafting agendas, documenting meeting minutes, capturing action items, and creating slide decks. 
  • Consolidate, review, and analyze data for client deliverables. 
  • Compile project-related metrics & track implementation task activities for reporting to leadership. 
  • Capture spoken information in real-time in documents and spreadsheets (e.g., live edits to documents, capture of questions and answers during presentations, etc.). 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • Ability to travel between 25%-50%. 
  • 4+ years of experience in project management/analysis. 
  • A personal credit card (in order to charge approved, company-reimbursable expenses). 
  • Prior consulting experience. 
  • Experience leading medium to large projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with process improvements.
  • Experience conducting process observations with frontline staff (e.g., gemba walks, time studies, etc.)
  • Experience working with frontline staff to document workflows, conduct time studies, or engage in process improvement activities.
  • Must have ability to develop and lead briefings, develop reports, collect and interpret data and analytics, and evaluate progress. 
  • Agility and ability to change course based on shifting plans, priorities, and timelines. 
  • Experience making live edits to documents and other artifacts while screensharing. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal. 
  • Ability to think about projects holistically to identify next steps and courses of action that will support the client’s goals. 
  • Ability and drive to learn from challenges and take on progressive responsibility. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. 
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment focused on learning, opportunities for impact, and collaboration with colleagues. 
  • Proficient in the following MS Office Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project. 
  • The ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. 
  • Professional VA or DoD work experience, or prior experience working in a healthcare organization (e.g., hospital, health system, health insurance company, military health etc.). 
  • Experience with implementation of new business processes or systems. 
  • Experience leading process improvement projects. 
  • Knowledge or experience with Electronic Health Records. 
  • Availability to work from the Trilogy offices in Arlington, VA approximately once per month.
