What You'll DoÂ
The ideal candidate for the Manager, Cloud Operations role will lead and oversee the day to day activities of our cloud Operations team. This manager will play a key role in improving the quality and consistency of software deployment and defining standard procedures and best practices. As the leader of the Cloud Operations team, you will collaborate, organize and prioritize work on behalf of the product teams. This person must have experience in the following areas:
Responsibilities:
- Personnel leadership – experience managing and mentoring a globally diverse technical staff.Â
- The candidate must have considerable experience building highly available, scalable and resilient services in the Azure and AWS public clouds.
- Experience with containers and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes in addition to building cloud native (serverless, functions, etc…) services is also important.
- Experience designing and implementing CI/CD piplines to automate building, testing and deployment of infrastructure and applications.
- The “Digital Transformation” of legacy IT support teams to modern cloud operations support teams with an agile approach to support.
- Experience developing road maps that delivers industry-leading benchmarks/SLAs for cloud services.
- Experience optimizing cloud spend through metrics and reporting
- Designing, documenting and delivering infrastructure services using IaC methodologies (i.e. Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, etc…)
What You May Need to be Successful
- Degree in IT or Business Discipline or equivalent experience.
- OVerall to come with 8+ yrs of experience of which minimum of 3 years experience delivering large scale cloud infrastructure/services.
- Minimum of 1 years experience managing/developing IT professionals.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud network design.
- Proven ability to deliver highly available cloud services with disaster recovery.
- Setting technical direction for cloud infrastructure design (collaborating with application architects, operations, and financial stakeholders)
- Training IT team members to deploy cloud services via IaC methodologies
- Documenting the environment , setting technical roadmaps. & reporting on service usageÂ
- Ability to manage priorities and tasks in order to meet deadlines and accomplish goals
- Demonstrated ability in defining and implementing process improvements with a focus on leading edge technology
- Strong communication skills for gaining understanding, support and compliance from both executive and junior audiences
- Strong collaboration skills
- Technical acumen to convert plans into real solutions
- Customer focused individual who must be able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and effectively collaborate across teams
- Must be detailed oriented and able to provide superior level of customer service to employees and colleagues
- Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills required
- Must be self-motivated, highly organized with the ability to prioritize independently while demonstrating a sense of urgency
- Ability to produce accurate work under pressure with frequent deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise independent judgment in the performance of duties
- Ability to manage change effectively, always mindful of technology, business processes and systems implication
- Exception written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with management, technical peers, and business stakeholders
- THis is a people manager role. Very strong communication and presentation skills for gaining understanding, support and compliance from both executive and junior audiences
