Manager, Cloud Platform Engineering

Position Purpose: Oversees the design and management of an organization's cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategy. Manages the development of scalable architecture to support applications and infrastructure on IaaS and PaaS platforms. Leads the evaluation process to select, implement, and maintain the best cloud solutions for the organization. Guides requirements gathering activities with stakeholders and vendors. Ensures that robust security management and privacy requirements are incorporated into cloud hardware, software, and applications. Establishes audit standards, controls, and processes to monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure. Maintains up-to-date, extensive, and deep knowledge of cloud products, technology, and best practices.

• Leads a team for the cloud services unit responsible for managing the cloud platform
• Partners closely with cloud & enterprise architecture teams to develop and enforce cloud standards, best practices, and roadmap capabilities
• Develops deep understanding in technical domain and demonstrates thought leadership in emerging areas
• Works with internal risk and information security teams to ensure that appropriate controls and security rigor are in place for cloud platforms
• Partners closely with application development teams to provide new platform service offerings to enable & support their success
• Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for planning & executing on cloud platform architecture enhancements including network, security, and automation
• Acts as the owner for the reliability, availability, and performance of core cloud platform functions
• Manages department staff including hiring, performance management and career development to ensure alignment with defined goals
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards

Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience.
Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.
2+ years experience in setting up cloud specific infrastructure with public cloud providers like Azure, AWS and/or Google preferred.
Technical Skills:

• One or more of the following skills are desired.
• Knowledge of Other: common infrastructure automation languages such as Shell Scripting, Python, PowerShell, etc.
• Experience with Other: networking, security concepts, troubleshooting and with observability systems (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch)
• Knowledge of Other: serverless technologies such as Lambda, Google Functions or Azure functions, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing
• Experience with Other: working inside of a container ecosystem such as Kubernetes and Docker
• Experience with Other: addressing technical and business issues

Pay Range: $98,900.00 - $183,100.00 per year

Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
