Position Location: Hershey, PA
Summary:
This position manages The Hershey Company's Corporate Payroll function for US, Canada, and Switzerland and directly supervises a team of five. The Corporate Payroll Manager will serve as liaison with Plant payroll, Legal, Tax, HR, and Corporate Accounting to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. The position is responsible for but not limited to such duties as ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, reviewing and approving all payroll tax filings and payments, and ensuring SOX compliance. The position will lead year-end payroll activities including W2 and T4 filings. As needed, this position will partner with global payroll leads on ad hoc projects.

Payroll Team Management
- Provide day-to-day leadership of the Payroll team
- Develop annual performance goals for staff and assist in staff development of Career Development Action Plan (CDAP)
- Provide effective coaching and mentoring of employees that enable professional growth and development of skills and abilities
- Manage performance by providing regular feedback through one on one meetings, and tailoring development plans to achieve maximum performance and to ready these individuals for future roles
- Incorporating regular team meetings, huddles, etc. to share relevant business information and discuss impact to current processes and procedures
Responsible for designing and implementing appropriate training, learning, and cross-training opportunities for staff.
Payroll Operations
- Understand and manage all payroll cycles and deadlines to ensure accurate and timely processing of information and delivery of pay.
- Manage the payroll tax filings and payments for the Corporation.
- Oversee the preparation of tax filings, W2s, T4s and other government reporting.
- Ensure that all filings and payments are made on time.
- Stays current on newly enacted and evolving tax regulations to ensure the Corporations' compliance with all laws and regulations.
- Act as Sarbanes Oxley control owner for payroll process.
- Provide payroll related data to support other functional areas: Benefits, Planning, HR, and Finance.
- Act as liaison with various Plant payroll departments to provide guidance and ensure compliance with Company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as Payroll lead representative for global payroll team and as needed lead ad hoc global payroll projects
- Cultivate effective relationships with external partners such as ADP, Equifax, BSI, etc.
HR Services Leadership Team
- Participate as a member of the HBP Global Payroll & Benefits team, working closely with the Director, HR Services.
- Partner effectively with other HBP HR Service Delivery managers to ensure knowledge transfer between teams.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field. Advanced degree is a plus but not required.
Experience:
- Minimum 5-8 years of related progressive payroll experience required
- Minimum 3-5 years Supervisory experience required
SAP Payroll experience, ADP Streamline Payroll experience and Successfactors Employee Central experience desired

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of payroll law, payroll taxes and reporting and generally accepted accounting principles (U.S. GAAP)
