Job Description Summary

The Manager of Data Engineering is focused on leading a team of data engineers in the development of modern architectures to enable data-driven digital business. Provides team members with career development opportunities, mentoring, and guidance in architectural and design decisions. Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with other technology teams, data scientists, analytics teams, and business product owners in an agile environment.
  • Architect, build and support the operation of Cloud and On-Premises enterprise data infrastructure and tools.
  • Design robust, reusable and scalable data driven solutions and data pipeline frameworks to automate the ingestion, processing, and delivery of structured and unstructured batch and real-time streaming data.
  • Lead the development of data APIs and data delivery services to support critical operational processes, analytical models, and machine learning applications.
  • Lead the selection and integration of data related tools, frameworks, and applications required to expand our platform capabilities.
  • Understand and implement best practices in management of enterprise data, including master data, reference data, metadata, data quality, and lineage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, engineering, or relevant technical field
  • Six years of IT experience in design and development of data lakes, data warehouses and BI platforms
  • Four years if experience leading and building team of high-performance data engineers.
  • Strong experience in design, development and operationalization of large-scale enterprise data integrations, data lakes and data warehousing platforms promoting high standards and best practices.
  • Two years of experience in architecting, building, and administering big data and real-time streaming analytics architectures in on-premises and cloud environments
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and the ability to communicate with all levels of management.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, including product/service evaluation, contract negotiation, and on-going relationship management.
  • Able to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Creative thinker with strong analytical skills to synthesize ambiguous and complex information and formulate substantive actionable outcomes.
  • Results oriented with a strong customer focus.
  • Proficiency in driving change, questioning assumptions, and pushing for innovative solutions.
  • Ability to work in a complex, highly matrixed environment, and identify, define, and resolve organizational issues.
  • Familiarity with data science techniques and frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a technical field (e.g. computer science, math, engineering)
  • Understanding of big data and real time streaming analytics processing architecture and ecosystems
  • Experience with Datalake, Data warehouse and BI reporting platforms implementations in AWS stack
  • Experience with data analysis and using data visualization tools to describe data.
  • Experience with data warehousing architecture and implementation, including hands on experience with source to target mappings and developing ETL code.
  • Experience in managing large scale data operations in production.
  • Relevant technology or platform certification (AWS, Microsoft, etc.)

Compensation

**Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to applicable pay transparency and compensation posting laws. It is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid in certain Company locations.**

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $109,000 - $180,000. This range is an estimate, based on potential qualifications and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.

Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus of 17.5% based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company's discretion.
