Job Description
Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities
• Manages and plans the developers workload based on the SDLC methodology process that is being utilized on a given data platform. (Agile, Iterative, Waterfall)
• Ensures the team is collaborating with other teams to facilitate project design, documentation, code production, unit testing, automated unit testing, and software release on time and under budget
• Practices servant leadership skills in ways consistent with the Lifetime Way; provides authentic leadership to the data platform development staff which enables their best potential while removing impediments
• Conducts regular coaching and mentoring sessions with direct reports to review progress of Goals & Objectives
• Interviews, selects, and trains Team Leads and/or Staff of Data Platform Development. Evaluates and appraises performance and makes recommendations for merit increases and advancements. Motivates and counsel's department personnel to increase efficiency and encourage career development.
• Acts as a technical moderator / leader to the development team on design and execution choices. This aspect of the role leverages hands-on skills to collaborate with subject matter experts on the team to facilitate well-rounded decisions on technical issues.
• Engages users, businesses, solution architects, and project stakeholders to flush out business needs and help arrive at the project design
• Works with project stakeholder, team subject matter experts to provide project estimates and assumptions
• Develops strong relationships with both the business community and the IT organization and portrays a deep understanding of current business processes and industry best practices
• Collaborates with Big Data Strategy and Innovation, Data Governance, Enterprise Architecture, Data Architecture, and IT Infrastructure to align departmental execution with strategic directives
• Assures the solutions adhere to architecture patterns, support business user requirements, promotes enterprise data governance, and corporate data strategy objectives
• Oversees the behavioral driven development practices in platform data development, is responsible to mature unit testing used by the team and implements strategies to improve quality and/or productivity of the organization
• Performs capacity planning for human capital resources on the platform data development team
• Assists in the development of metrics, standards, governance and processes required to manage the group
• Leads the project management, deliverable tracking, and issues management for the book-of-work owned by the Platform Data development team
• Consults with management, sponsors, and project teams to review project scope/progress and resolve project issues
• Responsible for the source code management in support of the team's dev ops practices
• Drives the release management and planning in support the development schedule of the team
• Endorses the team to develop and maintain current knowledge of Healthcare industry, Business Intelligence, and Data Platform trends / advances

• Conducts periodic staff meetings to include timely distribution and education related to departmental and Ethics/Compliance information.
• Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
• Performs other functions as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
• BA in Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance or related field with eleven years related work experience. In lieu of degree, 4 years work experience in data warehouse development PLUS 4 years additional years of work experience in leading software development with imperative, functional or object-oriented programing
• Minimum of three years in a leadership role
• Healthcare Payer and/or Healthcare Industry experience a plus
• Experience working with data lakes with specific experience in Big Data technologies such as but not limited toAzure, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Python, HBase, Kafka, and Sqoopas well as software development practices like behavioral driven development, automated unit testing, code review, code coverage evaluation, and software architecture principles.
• Demonstrated experience in software development with dev ops that does feature based code deployment, continuous testing, continuous release, and quality analysis
• Must understand how to lead agile development following the 4 essential agile principles.
• Experience working with ETL tools such as Informatica in an Oracle Data Warehouse environment.
• Demonstrated experience with Operational Data Store/Data Warehousing in an Oracle environment
• Must understand how to lead iterative and/or traditional waterfall development teams.
• Expertise in structured systems analysis and design, user relations, data gathering techniques, formal test methods, and management information systems
• Experience and/or demonstrated knowledge of quality strategy and process definition
• Experience and/or demonstrated knowledge of testing plans, test results and test scripting development
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated skills in quality principles especially root cause analysis and problem solving
• Demonstrated business process development skills and strong analytic, diagnostic, and technical problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated competence in technical leadership and facilitation tasks
• Demonstrated a desire to continuously learn
• Expertise in project planning and project management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Capable of successfully delivering on multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Enjoys having fun with people
Travel Requirement
• Ability to travel across regions.
