JOB DESCRIPTION:

Abbott Point of Care develops, manufactures and markets critical medical diagnostic and data management products for rapid blood analysis. The i-STAT System is an advanced, portable diagnostic tool that provides real-time, lab-quality results within minutes to accelerate patient-care decision-making. The i-STAT System has the industry's most comprehensive menu of tests in a single, with-patient platform, including tests for blood gases, electrolytes, chemistries, coagulation, hematology, glucose, and cardiac markers.

Job Summary

The Manager, Global Demand Management is responsible for providing oversight to the APOC Global Demand Planning process and will lead the consolidation & management of demand plans across the global APOC organization. S/he will provide leadership and direction to Area Demand Planning managers and serve as the lead point of contact for demand planning at APOC. S/he is responsible for providing process stewardship and for identifying/defining improvement opportunities to enhance the accuracy of the global demand plan. S/he will also serve as the process advocate and will help drive organizational alignment with the global demand planning process by fostering awareness, visibility, and process discipline throughout the organization. S/he, in partnership with commercial and the global supply chain organization, will identify and highlight supply risk, proactively communicate to business partners, and collaboratively create plans to manage and mitigate demand related risk. This position will report into the Senior Director of Global Commercial Operations, and work collaboratively and cross-functionally with APOC Commercial teams, including IBP Director, Finance, Supply Chain, Global Strategic Marketing (on product retirements and launches), etc.

An ideal candidate for this role will have demonstrated experience in leading a geographically dispersed team to deliver against priority commitments while driving process based

organizational change. S/he is a strategic thinker with strong business acumen, financial understanding and analytical thinking

This position is location at Abbott Point of Care (APOC) Global Headquarters in Princeton, NJ.

Position Responsibilities

  • Drive monthly global demand forecast process, including but not limited to: global tools / templates / KPIs to enable areas forecast efficiency and accuracy, partner with product and portfolio team to ensure launch plans are properly understood and integrated into the country/region and area demand plans, pressure test area demand planning assumptions and forecasts, manage global rollup, highlight risks and recommend adjustment, provide aggregated level of guidance to Supply Chain and Finance / IBP expected quantity and product mix
  • Lead and develop others. Coach and guide Area Demand Planners to enhance overall capabilities and ultimately improved demand forecast accuracy
  • Challenge cross-functional partners to ensure forecast drivers are identified, understood & mutually agreed-upon.
  • Analyze actual shipment/sales versus the net required forecast plans on a consistent basis to review accuracy, identify trends and capture issues, develop plans of actions with Area Demand Planners based on findings, and monitor Area execution
  • Prepare executive level summaries and present key assumptions, findings and observations along with actionable information; interpret ambiguous data; draw conclusions and provide recommendation.
  • Analyze global trends, performance, variations across areas; conduct scenario planning with senior commercial leadership
  • Responsible for demand forecast for CALA (Canada and Latin America) and Global Strategic Accounts (Animal Health and Clinical Trials business)
  • Collect non-commercial demand from cross-functional partners to ensure proper product supply to internal customers.
  • Responsible for generating variance analysis to provide to the organization to explain changes in demand from month-to-month
  • Work with Area Demand Planners and Supply Chain ensure product allocation strategies for product launch and extended backorder scenarios.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, statistics, or another technical field required
  • Advanced degree preferred
