Manager, Information Security Engineering

Job Summary

The Manager, Information Security Engineers will lead a team of professionals in the design, implementation, and improvement of technical solutions intended to protect information assets against threats and vulnerabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the Information Security Engineering team in support of Data Protection, Network Security, Application Security, Endpoint Security, Secure Configurations, Patching, Detection, and Response solutions
• Establish and maintain Information Security Engineering management framework and reporting
• Manage day to day team tasks and issues
• Responsible for delivering security programs and projects with Security partners, IT, lines of business, Compliance, and Legal
• Ensure the team follows policies and procedures in pursuit of the mission to reduce cyber risk to the business
• Drive continual information security engineering process improvement opportunities
• Lead others in the development and implementation of security processes and procedures
• Participate in the evaluation, development, and recommendation of specific technology products and platforms to provide cost-effective solutions that meet business and technology requirements
• Mentor and coach others on both a formal and informal basis
• Lead teams and provide subject matter expertise on complex projects
• Translate undefined business problems and defined business objectives and goals into functional solutions
• Independently direct teams as well as contribute individually to project and solution outcomes
• Strong familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems and cloud provider ecosystems like Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure
• Practical knowledge of foundational cloud services related to compute, network, storage, content delivery, administration and security, deployment and management, automation technologies, IAM proficiency, etc.
• Experience with SecDevOps, securing infrastructure with cloud deployment, build and test automation.
• Understanding of complex enterprise environments and current technology areas like cloud and mobility

Experience and Education Requirements

• Associate degree in Information Security, IT, Management, or similar or equivalent experience
• 10 years of experience in IT
• 5+ years of experience within Information Security
• Experience managing a team
• Experience with cloud
• Significant experience with Information Security Operations (Data Protection, Network Security, Application Security, Endpoint Security, Secure Configurations, Patching, Detection, and Response)
• Understanding of operational impact of relevant information security compliance and regulatory requirements (SOX, SSAE18 (SOC) ISO 2700x, PCI, HIPPA, NYDFS, etc.) 

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• CISSP, ITIL, CISM, GIAC, or similar certifications
• Experience working within an IT organization in the financial services industry
• Prior leadership experience
