About the team:
We're looking for a talented and energetic Accounts Payable Manager to join our growing accounting team. You will Interact and coordinate with colleagues in Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Tax and various other departments across Robinhood to ensure to meet daily operational needs. This position will be responsible for supervising the AP staff and daily operations, meeting deadlines, increasing efficiency by accurately processing all payable transactions executed with different payment methods and currencies. The Accounts Payable Manager will gain exposure to the global, technical and operational payable activities and have a high degree of commitment, independent, resourcefulness, and detail-oriented to achieve 100% accuracy.
What you'll do day-to-day:
- Hire, train, motivate and manage AP full-time employees and contractors
- Develop, improve and maintain key metrics on team performance
- Implement and maintain corporate accounts payable policies, systems and procedures to comply with SOX requirements
- Fully understand and lead the procure-to-pay cycle and monthly AP cycle, internal and external point of contact on AP operation matters
- Meet AP deadlines while ensuring that payables transactions are being coded accurately and processed efficiently for close periods
- Work closely with procurement team to ensure all payment requirements are met and resolve PO issues
- Be responsible for the month-end accruals AP report for all entities, and work with accruals team for improvement or new requests
- Partner with Treasury team and the banks to ensure all payment solutions are maintained
- Improve system solutions by identifying issues and testing with CorpEng team
- Document AP related processes and procedures and maintain training materials
- Manage all year-end tax required filings to IRS (1099's, 1042's, etc.)
- Support internal audit and regulatory exam data requirements
- Analyze data to substantiate changes or new process adoptions
- Assist in ad-hoc projects as necessary
About you:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 3 years AP supervisory experience in the tech or comparable industry
- Extensive knowledge of accounting and management principles and accounts payable procedures
- Proficiency with Oracle ERP/Coupa (or comparable systems), Excel, and reporting tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to partner cross-functionally in an effective manner
- Experience with international vendors and banks
- Experience with system implementation and integration
