The Role: Manager of Credentialing 

Location: Remote with travel 3-4 times per year
About This Role:

We are searching for a Manager of Credentialing who is passionate about the industry and can bring new initiatives to the team. With our continued growth, we are seeking a Manager of Credentialing that can implement new processes as we scale. The Manager of Credentialing is responsible for managing the timely and accurate submission and processing of Hazel’s practice and provider enrollments with state Medicaid programs, Managed Medicaid, Commercial and Government payors. The Manager will ensure overall credentialing performance including strategic planning, analysis, and continuous quality and productivity improvements of the team. The Manager of Credentialing will be accountable for key credentialing and revenue cycle metrics as well as fostering a team atmosphere between both internal and external stakeholders. This position reports to the Vice President of Finance and Revenue Operations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage the day-to-day practice and payor enrollment/credentialing operational processes and team to ensure the timely and accurate submission of enrollment and credentialing documentation including initiation and review of application, primary source verification, ongoing monitoring of credentials and processing provider enrollments, re-enrollments, and demographic updates with contracted payers
  • Assist in the development and execution of policies and procedures supporting a delegated credentialing process
  • Set team direction, develop proactive goals, and measure team performance against operational targets
  • Oversee the tracking and maintenance of all provider data in provider data management system, ensuring high quality standards are maintained
  • Conduct analyses and audits and use data to identify and address credentialing process and velocity improvements
  • Serves as the subject matter expert on practice and provider enrollment, with particular expertise in state Medicaid and Managed Medicaid processes
  • Ensures compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and directives from regulatory agencies and third-party payers
  • Partner with clinical leadership and human resources to implement and manage a timely and smooth provider onboarding process
  • Collaborate closely with peers in Contracting and Billing to ensure efficient and accurate revenue cycle processes

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
  • At least 7-10 years working in practice and provider enrollments
  • 3 - 5 years of experience successfully leading and managing a high-performance credentialing operation while meeting or exceeding industry benchmarks
  • 3+ years of experience working with state Medicaid and Managed Medicaid organizations nationwide, telehealth experience is a plus. Preferred states of experience: CA, FL, TX, NV, WA
  • Strong, in-depth knowledge of revenue cycle management principles and practices, including medical billing, coding, collections, managed care products, regulatory compliance, payer credentialing, and financial reporting
  • Solid quantitative and process analysis skills, including forecasting, trending, benchmarking, and operational analysis of the department performance
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA)
  • Experience with credentialing systems/software, such as Modio, Cactus, etc. Experience with Salesforce HealthCloud strongly preferred
