Job Description

ULTRA MOBILE is seeking a talented Manager, PPM Analytics to join the PMO Team! Individual reports to Director, PPM. Role is remote - must reside in the United States.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Manager of PPM Analytics plays a vital role in driving meaningful change throughout the organization by enabling the creation, maintenance, interpretation, presentation of data that leads to cross functional partnership and process improvements. As a key member of the Project Management Organization (PMO) within the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) team, the Manager of PPM Analytics leads a team of Data Analysts. This team is responsible for selecting and implementing productivity tools that enhance cross-functional team collaboration, such as the Atlassian suite, Wrike, Figma, Smartsheets, and more. The goal is to establish reliable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) that effectively measure, monitor, and improve all aspects of large-scale, cross-functional project delivery.

The Manager of PPM Analytics collaborates with leaders from various disciplines to gain trust and agreement in order to drive process improvements and optimize operational workflows via the creation and analysis of new process/efficiency health metrics. This role also involves creating impactful presentations for the Senior Leadership Team, including the C-Suite. In addition to these responsibilities, the Manager of Data Analytics assumes the role of a people manager, overseeing the training, development, and fostering a culture of excellence within the PPM Analytics team. Our objective is to gain comprehensive insights into every stage of project delivery, aiming to achieve greater efficiency, agility, and value delivery to our customers.

As the team creates datasets and data flows, the Manager ensures the ongoing maintenance of reports, dashboards, and other visualizations. The goal is to provide leaders across all teams with the necessary insights to make informed decisions. Although occasional business travel may be required, it is expected to be less than 10% of working time.

Your usual day of awesomeness includes:  

  • Lead and manage a team of Data Analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements for data analysis projects.
  • Design and implement effective data analysis methodologies and frameworks to extract meaningful insights from various data sources.
  • Oversee the collection, cleaning, and integration of data to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and impact of data analysis initiatives.
  • Drive the development and implementation of data models, algorithms, and statistical techniques to support data analysis and decision-making processes.
  • Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through clear and concise reports, presentations, and visualizations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data analysis to drive business growth and operational efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data analysis and provide recommendations for their adoption.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to senior leadership including Executives.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Comfort and familiarity with with Data Analytics Tools and Technologies, like Tableau and EazyBI.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies, machine learning, and cloud platforms can be beneficial.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business understanding and acumen are essential to align data analytics initiatives with organizational goals. The Manager of Data Analytics should possess the ability to translate data insights into strategic recommendations and actionable plans that drive business value and operational efficiency.
  • Project Management: Proficiency in project or portfolio management methodologies and practices is beneficial. Experience in leading data analysis projects from initiation to completion, including scoping, resource allocation, timeline management, and deliverable quality assurance, is highly desired.
  • 5-8 years’ Industry Experience.
  • 2-5 years People Management Experience.

In support of the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the range of starting pay for this role is $135,000 - $150,000.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location.  We also offer a variety of benefits including health, disability insurance, 401 (k), flexible spending accounts, EAP, education reimbursement, parental leave, unlimited vacation, bonuses, and company paid holidays.  The specific programs available will vary depending on state, start date, and employment type.
