The Role: Manager, School Training and Professional Learning

Location: Remote

We are searching for a stellar change manager, educator, and instructional expert to lead our customer learning function. Reporting to the Vice President of Service Excellence (Customer Success), you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Hazel’s professional learning programs. Using your K-12 educational expertise, you will empower school nurses, student services staff, and principals to effectively integrate Hazel’s telehealth programs into their school operations.  

You will manage a team of School Implementation Managers/Trainers. Today, this team is responsible for the successful launch of the end-user experience at schools, including onboarding training (primary responsibility) and timely setup of equipment and user permissions (secondary responsibility). Over the next six to twelve months and beyond, you will lead the maturation of our current School Implementation & Training function to a best-in-class Professional Learning team, measuring success based on program participation, internal and external customer satisfaction, and overall adoption of Hazel’s telehealth services.

What You’ll Do:

  • Learning Program Design

    • Set and communicate an inspiring team vision and strategy, ensuring Hazel achieves both organizational and customer goals
    • Design high-impact learning journey, curriculum, and programming for different modalities (in-app, in-person, live/synchronous online, asynchronous online), content areas (Physical Health and Mental Health), and roles (teachers, administrators, school nurses, school mental health staff)
    • Partner with our Product and Clinical Operations teams to understand and translate changes to our technology and offering into a training release roadmap
    • Mature the current learning program from a “one size fits all” approach to one that scales according to district size, levels of adoption, and tenure with Hazel
    • Catalog the most common learning gaps to build a comprehensive library of compelling instructional materials that school partners can use off-the-shelf
  • Learning Program Delivery
    • Consult customer-facing teams from implementation through adoption and renewal
    • Manage a team of School Implementation Managers who serve as trainers and adoption coaches; as we grow, identify and hire other teammates to round out the function (ex; Instructional Designer)
    • Considering the needs of new partners in our growth pipeline and existing school partners, forecast team demand to develop resource and allocation plans
    • Track and monitor participant progress in our customer learning programs; collaborate with customer-facing teams and Data & Analytics to regularly review training impact data
    • Facilitate surveys and conduct occasional school visits to create a feedback loop that informs improvement plans for our learning experiences

What excites us:

  • 5-10 years in public K-12 education required, ideally as a district administrator or senior school leader; advanced degree preferred
  • Firm understanding of the pedagogy of teaching and learning, shown through the ability to deliver exceptional professional development to adult learners; specific experience training student services staff is a plus
  • Solid understanding of the education industry, including why districts purchase solutions like Hazel and benefits that school users can expect to see 
  • Demonstrated team and project management experience in a highly matrixed organization
  • Previous experience leading Professional Development at a curriculum provider, edTech company, or other education services company
  • Commitment to cultivating a team culture of school partner success 
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and other training tools is a plus
  • Expected travel up to 50%
