Role Description
Dropbox is seeking an experienced people manager to join the foundations of
our rapidly growing Hybrid Infrastructure team. This person will be responsible for sourcing the software and services services needed to deliver the cloud infrastructure that will enable Dropbox to scale beyond our current 1 billion files/day stored by 700M+ users. This role will work with key software and services carriers to ensure that Dropbox has the software and services capacity it needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead Supplier Business Reviews to drive supplier performance
- Drive alignment with key internal stakeholders including, engineering, finance, legal, operations
- Responsible for maintaining sourcing pipeline and Business Over Time, benchmarking data, strategy presentations, global budget and on-time metrics
- Build long term strategic relationships with key vendors and industry experts
- Lead supplier selection to drive efficiency, technology and availability.
- Ensure sourcing serves as a critical enabler and value add to the business, while also governing the spend of the business in our operations
- Manage, advise, and engage in the sourcing and contracting processes including evaluating, negotiating, and entering contracts and renewing relationships with suppliers of software and services Category.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement sourcing industry trends to advance company strategic sourcing excellence
- Strengthen partnerships with business functions across the company to provide valuable consultation. Ensure key business partners understand the strategic and tactical direction for sourcing efforts allowing for integration with company and organizational strategies
- Develop a strong strategic advisor/partner relationship with the legal function to ensure best in class contracting practices are in place globally
- Accountable for people leader responsibilities including communication, talent development, and performance management
Skills and Qualifications Needed:
- BA/BS in supply chain, procurement, software and services or equivalent with at least 7 years of sourcing experience
- 7+ years of experience in the strategic and operational aspects of sourcing and procurement for Software and Services
- Demonstrated experience working with industry leading suppliers
- Experience in strategic negotiations obtaining services from software and services technology providers
- Extensive experience with contract development and supplier management
- Good understanding of software and services sourcing
- Experience interfacing with suppliers and driving results with supply base
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required
- Be a candidate who comes equipped to build and maintain a world class team of both employees and partners
- Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to cultivate and maintain strong internal and external relationships at all levels
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategy, governance, and structure in a rapidly changing environment
- Track record of establishing relationships, influencing, and negotiating competing priorities among business partners
- Understanding of business-oriented financial concepts, financial analysis, budget formulation, and business case development
Total Rewards
For candidates hired in Colorado, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is $154,400 - $181,600 - $208,800.
This salary/OTE range represents the low, middle, and high end of the salary or OTE (Sales roles) range for this position, and is subject to change. To determine a Dropboxer’s starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. This position may be considered a promotional opportunity.
Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
