At SalesLoft, our Engineering Manager is pivotal to our companyâs success. You will be a key member of our fast-growing and high-performing Engineering team. You will partner with other Engineering Managers in the company to lead and drive continuous process improvements and innovation as well as establish trust across the org with Product Managers, Support, Technical Operations, and peer engineering teams.
As an Engineering Manager, you will help engineers to develop their career plans and assign project work tailored to their skill set. We are looking for someone to bring industry standards and best practices to a development engineering team in order to increase their efficiency and engagement, ultimately increasing our customersâ satisfaction.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for mentoring individuals and coaching a team of software engineers. Youâll be developing and monitoring metrics to measure the teamâs effectiveness in delivering value to our customers. You will be managing a Scrum delivery team that owns a specific portion of the SalesLoft product. This includes removing blockers, leading Scrum ceremonies, communicating with other engineering leadership, and working alongside other delivery teams. You will be supporting the continuous improvement of the team and enhancing the overall development processes.
In Guadalajara, you will be working to support the (Senior Engineering Manager/Director of Engineering) to recruit, interview, onboard new staff, and develop relationships in the tech community.

THE TEAM:
Our SalesLoftâs Engineering team is comprised of seasoned and up-and-coming Full-Stack engineers who are all aligned on one vision and mission:

 THE SKILL SET:Â
- 5+ years people management experience
- Experience interviewing, onboarding, and leveling up software developers and technical positions, and ensuring that multiple teams of engineers have everything they need to excel in their work
- A proven servant leader with a track record of creating high-functioning teams
- 10+ years of previous experience in the software development field - either as a software engineer or another technical leadership role
- Experience establishing strategic relationships quickly
- Ability to communicate across contexts and cultures throughout multiple departments
- Adept at understanding the root cause of customer requests and pinpointing the correct way to solve the problem
- Highly collaborative mentalityÂ
 WITHIN ONE MONTH, YOU'LL:
- Attend SalesLoft's New Hire Orientation, where you will learn our SalesLoft story and understand what makes our "Lofters" unique
- Attend an Engineering Department orientation
- Begin 1:1's with your manager, understand your 30-60-90 plan
- Begin 1:1's with your team members and understand their career goals
- Meet key players in departments that work directly with the engineering team
- Have an introduction to SalesLoftâs hiring strategy and pair with your manager and recruiter through the hiring process of full-stack engineers
- Start conducting weekly team meetings
WITHIN THREE MONTHS, YOU'LL:
- Set your OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) with your manager and develop an action plan to achieve them
- Identify metrics to measure the engineering team against and report on them weekly
- Be able to help your direct reports start to achieve their career plans, providing input and guidance on capstone projects
- Operate independently on hiring to staff the Engineering team and facilitate fair and equitable candidate reviews - offline coding exercises, interview questions
- Represent the engineers and find your voice among the greater Engineering Management teamÂ
WITHIN SIX MONTHS, YOU'LL:
- Be contributing at 100%, acting as the voice for Engineering to the company - monitoring questions and discussions in Slack channels
- Have developed relationships with the Product, Customer Success, Professional Services, and Data Warehouse team to help them achieve their goals.Â
- Provide suggestions for process improvementsÂ
- Revamp engineering onboarding to make it more valuable
- Provide and monitor backlog of projects and feature work that will take up the non-triage time
- Field one-off requests for Engineer work and push back / accept as needed
- Introduce community outreach or other recruiting ideas to get us the best candidates for the full-stack engineer role
