Manager, Solution Engineering
Job Description
The Sigma Manager, Solution Engineering believes in the power of analytics to transform organizations and uncover new data insights to increase business agility. In this player/coach role, the Manager, Solution Engineering will partner directly with the VP of Sales, Central as a strategic advisor in formulating creative go-to-market initiatives to scale and grow the business. This will involve working in close partnership with internal thought leaders in Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, and the extended Solution Engineering organization as a whole. A unique attribute of this role is the ability to partner & deliver impact with senior members across Sigma to provide feedback to improve the Sigma platform, identify process and organizational improvements, and grow revenues. As the Solutions Leader, you will work closely with the VP, Solution Engineering to allocate SE resources, perform employee onboarding and reviews, develop demo messaging/content, and participate in strategic deals. Lastly the Manager, Solution Engineering will actively work with their team members to solve difficult problems and coordinate corporate and external resources when required. They will also drive strategic initiatives and programs as needed and actively support the team’s career development and advancement.

What You Will Be Doing
- Lead and mentor a team of cutting edge Analytics and Business Intelligence Solution Engineering professionals
- Strategically partner with the VP of Enterprise Sales - Central to drive scale, process improvement, and growth across key investment areas in the business
- Exercise Go-To-Market leadership skills through leveraging strong business acumen and in-depth analytical capabilities
- Manage large and medium scale projects/initiatives requiring complex cross-functional collaboration and project management needs
- Create and manage project plans; monitor and review project progress and timelines; adjust schedules and plans as needed, and identify and resolve issues to ensure project success
- Be the Voice of the Solutions organization and identify opportunities to identify new Sigma use cases to address business trends or customer needs within key industries
- Leverage business knowledge and expertise to drive business process improvements within the Solutions and Sales organizations
Qualifications We Need
- The candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of experience leading complex Solution Engineering organizations
- The candidate will possess good analytical capabilities, be organized, and able to lead several strategic initiatives at the same time in a fast-paced startup environment
- Proficient with enterprise analytics and business intelligence platforms and able to present to a business or technical audience
- Ability to represent the voice of the Solution Engineering team by providing guidance on sales strategies, approaches to solve specific problems, as well as represent team needs to executive stakeholders
- Able to communicate equally with internal resources such as Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, and Sales Management to gain commitment and support
- Proficient fundamental sales skills (value and solution selling) and advanced leadership skills
- Knowledge of advanced technologies and business processes including:
- Strong understanding of database concepts
- Understanding of advanced spreadsheet concepts
- Cloud data warehouse experience - Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery
- ETL experience - Fivetran, Matillion or traditional ETL
- Experience implementing production analytics and business intelligence solutions or proof of concepts
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent technical & business experience
- 50% Travel
