AXS is thrilled to be expanding its operations in our Tokyo office. This move comes as our company continues to grow its global footprint.
THE ROLE
The Managing Director is responsible for the operational and financial responsibility for all Company business operations in the region. This position will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s business strategies and fostering business relationships. You will lead the launching and scaling of our new region. This position reports to the CEO and will work closely with all globally focused departments and business leaders including Operations, Marketing, Business Development, Design, and others as required. This position will be responsible for setting up the General responsibilities include leadership and guidance in managing day to day operations, pursuing new business opportunities, hiring, financial oversight and reconciliation, policy, procedures, event management, scheduling, technology and ensuring superior customer service of the agency. As the senior leader, the MD will ultimately be responsible for growing the AXS footprint in the region. Â
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage team to meet business and profitability growth objectives. KPIs to be set forth collaboratively.
- Lead the strategy, implementation and execution of our new region.
- Maintaining all area client relationships, ensuring the highest levels of client satisfaction and contract renewals.
- Manage the overall delivery of AXS services including ticketing, marketing, and customer service
- Oversee the introduction and promotion of the AXS brand throughout the region.
- Identify new business opportunities throughout the region, directing the customer acquisition process against a set of annual sales goals.
- Address client concerns directly and with initiative to ensure the resolution of issues in a timely manner.
- Coach and collaborate with others on the Account Management, Operations, Client Service, and Marketing teams, to ensure the highest service levels and effective, consistent communication of AXS capabilities, services, and product offerings.
- Lead and manage the Australian team ensuring the culture, vision and values of the Company are integrated into all processes, including how we interact with clients and our teammates.
- Develop and implement strategies to upsell existing clients on products, programs, or services that drive ticket sales and revenue; track, monitor, and adjust plans to maximize results.
- Review and approve preparation of accounting analysis for budgetary planning and performance against measurable operating and financial goals.
- Ensure appropriate controls are in place to protect our assets.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 15 years of related live entertainment industry / sports team management experience, with a strong focus on relationship management, business development and sales
- Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible management experience in a B-to-B service industry
- Excellent customer service, communication, and consulting skills servicing C-Level leaders
- Analytical and strategic thinking with strong presentation skills
- Proven ability to work in a high-pressure environment, with competing priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales or revenue targets
- Technology literacy – understanding the constraints, prioritization, and process of building new technologies.
- Comfortable in a digital environment
- Remote, evening and weekend availability, as required.
- Experience leading an organizational start-up with new business sales objectives
- 25%-50% travel required
- Start-up experience
- Prior experience launching and scaling a new business
- Native Japanese speaker fluency with conversational English speaking ability
