Managing Editor

This is an on-site position in New York City. In order to be considered, candidates must live within a reasonable daily commuting distance to our NYC office.
Yahoo Finance is hiring a Managing Editor to help lead its editorial coverage, manage the editorial team and keep its audience informed on the most important business stories and market news of the day.
Successful candidates should be experts in finance and business journalism, enthusiastic about helping colleagues succeed, maintain professionalism and focus under deadlines, and have an innate sense of what is newsworthy as well as a keen understanding of data and analytics.
Responsibilities:

• Managing the editorial team and the overall editorial team's resources
• Coordinating coverage across the editorial umbrella, ensuring proper coverage in key areas such as earnings announcements, major economic data releases, Fed news and more.
• Coordinating text editorial team with live and events teams to drive a holistic strategy and ensure key newsmaking moments are amplified
• Keeping daily tabs on the biggest moves in financial markets, including U.S. stocks, bonds, cryptocurrencies, and more
• Covering the latest research and commentary from Wall Street on the biggest trends moving markets, impacting individual investors
• Editing stories and overseeing the Yahoo Finance front page, social media content and push alerts
• Working with the Editor-in-chief on key strategic initiatives

Minimum Requirements:

• Ten years plus experience in business news and/or closely related fields required.
