Manual Machinist

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in operating various machining tools and equipment. This role involves fabricating precision parts and components while ensuring adherence to strict quality standards. The Manual Machinist will work closely with engineers and other team members to produce high-quality products that meet customer specifications. Duties • Operate manual lathes, mills, and other machining equipment to fabricate parts according to specifications. • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to ensure accuracy in dimensions. • Perform basic math calculations to determine dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements. • Set up tooling and fixtures for machining operations. • Conduct routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance. • Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and improve manufacturing processes. • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols. Requirements • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments including calipers and micrometers. • Experience with CNC machinery is a plus, particularly familiarity with Fanuc controls. • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex technical drawings. • Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations. • Ability to fabricate parts from various materials while maintaining tight tolerances. • Previous experience in a machining environment is preferred but not mandatory. • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
