Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease. Our extensive portfolio includes drug-eluting stents, bare metal stents, guide wires, balloon dilatation catheters, imaging catheters and software, vessel closure devices and peripheral stents.
Our field-based location is covering Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Idaho and Washington State areas currently has an opportunity for a Market Development Specialist. This role will have responsibility to promote Abbott Vascular thrombectomy products in assigned accounts by partnering with the Territory Manager to identify targets, develop strategies and execute business plans that grow the market and meet or exceed sales goals through therapy awareness, market development, and case support.
Role includes therapy education and case coverage within a defined territory. Proactively partner with TM to identify opportunities and challenges within existing and potential accounts, while driving the achievement of business goals and increased sales revenue. Exhibits excellent sales skills, and clinical competency relevant to Peripheral Arterial Disease and Thrombectomy Disease. Builds strong relationships and collaborates with healthcare providers in therapy awareness efforts to grow the Vascular patient treatment pool among vascular surgeons, interventional cardiologists, and interventional radiologist in the territory's catchment area. Stays informed on market dynamics and competitive activity relative to therapy.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Partner with Territory Manager to develop - strategic pathways and account objectives to expand the Abbott Vascular footprint in the Thrombectomy market and deliver procedural and sales growth.
- Ensure a firm grasp of account activity, current and historical performance to establish joint strategy to educate physicians about Peripheral and Mechanical Thrombectomy procedures.
- Manage the full sales process including targeting accounts strategically, working through the administrative requirements to gain approval for use in the account, and growing product utilization.
- Partner with Physicians and their team to identify appropriate patients for treatment, and support/direct the Physician during the procedure.
- Initiate and effectively manage therapy awareness education activities or events targeting referring clinicians.
- Meet with existing and potential customers to identify clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care and economic models to provide creative and feasible solutions. Build relationships in various hospital departments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Required
- BS/BA or equivalent experience required.
- 2-6 years of field clinical experience in medical device industry, preference for cardiovascular and peripheral clinical acumen.
- Proven sales experience in medical device industry preferred (cardiovascular or peripheral arterial disease).

- Driven to achieve and deliver results in a wide range of environments.
- Strong focus on team work and caring for the patient as a priority.
- Effective organizational, communication, and process skills to support business planning, forecasting, sales process, and inventory management.
- Therapy awareness - Ability to create therapy awareness within and outside of key accounts to raise awareness and create / develop therapy education. Proactively educate referral community to assist with therapy development. -.
