  • The VP, Institutional Analytics is a leadership role in Nuveen’s Client Insights & Analytics group responsible for day-to-day management of Nuveen’s Institutional Analytics team. Reporting to the Global Head of Client Analytics, the VP, Institutional Analytics will help enhance the insight generation and application of data and analytics aligning to our Institutional and marketing strategies and enhancing the effectiveness of client acquisition, development and retention.  They will leverage deep knowledge of the Institutional and global distribution channels to inform strategy, uncover areas of opportunity, develop new optimized end-to-end models, apply statistics to enhance the client experience, report on key indicators of performance and using those findings to help set the strategic agenda and drive projects for the organization. Projects could include coverage optimization, lead generation, pipeline analysis, market segmentation, and ongoing performance measurement. These projects will require close collaboration across the Institutional and Marketing teams, Product, and Technology teams in addition to Distribution Enablement and Data Science teams.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Using data to help drive improvements in our servicing, sales and marketing efforts and coverage model

    • Translate analytic insights to team and leadership to ensure capabilities and analyses are well understood and tangible, actionable solutions are developed as we go to market

    • Perform analyses of historical data to surface trends and insights using advanced analytical methods

    • Acquire, compile and utilize structured and unstructured data and verifies its quality, accuracy and reasonableness to further enhance our distribution analytics capabilities and distribution efforts

    • Develop distribution KPIs and report success metrics to business stakeholders

    • Develop, own and manage recurring analytic and reporting processes working in close collaboration with Technology, Distribution Enablement and other teams to create a scalable reporting model

    • Create and documents best practices

    • Mentors, coaches, trains, and develops junior analysts. Proactively expands knowledge of business and analytics and shares with team members.

    • Validates analytical techniques employed by other analysts.

    Experience/Capabilities:

    • Requires minimum 7 years’ experience in advanced analytics in asset management/financial services industry

    • Advanced degree in relevant field required (finance, marketing, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics)

    • Strong data analysis and logical reasoning skills with experience analysing complex datasets using SQL

    • Demonstrated ability to improve results through analytics

    • Strong executive presence, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels

    • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work across multiple teams and platforms in a matrixed organization
