Marketplace Operations, Senior Manager

OVERVIEW

Instacart is seeking a Senior Manager of Marketplace Operations within the broader Operations team This role involves overseeing the health of fulfillment operations across the U.S. and Canada while ensuring high levels of efficiency and quality for Shoppers, Retailer Partners, and Customers.

About the team: You’ll be joining a team that owns real-time operations and the tools that reduce any negative impact on the customer fulfillment experience. This team is charged with proactively mitigating internal and external threats to high-quality fulfillment and responding swiftly with best-in-class processes whenever needed. 

Highlights: Lead and manage two distinct and high-impact areas within Marketplace Operations, consisting of Live Operations and Project Management pillars. You will help create and scale the next frontier of Instacart Operations and be responsible for scaling our marketplace health monitoring and triaging systems and tools.

ABOUT THE JOB

• Guide the vision and goals for team and multiple levels of management, providing key tactical, strategic, and career guidance
• Create and optimize metrics based processes to ensure all function-related objectives are consistently met and improved upon
• Effectively build relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to continuously improve system performance, tools, and team efficiency
• Play a critical role in monitoring product launches for fulfillment and logistics-related initiatives
• Identify opportunities to improve and automate time-consuming manual actions and build upon standard operating procedures that scale globally

ABOUT YOU

• 7+ years of experience building and leading effective teams in an Operations, Fulfillment, Project Management, or other supply chain or technology-focused environments
• Data first mindset: highly proficient in synthesizing and interpreting data, identifying trends, causation, correlation, etc
• Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to distill complex topics and create compelling narratives for various audiences
• A proven track record and eagerness to spot inefficiencies and improve broken processes in ever-changing fast-paced circumstances
• Ability to stay calm in chaotic, rapidly-changing environments and instill organizational excellence across the team, especially during tumultuous and time-sensitive situations
• Excellent team-building skills, experience, and desire to help others learn and grow
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills

BONUS POINTS

• Working knowledge of SQL and experience using SQL to analyze data and inform decisions 
• Experience in a growing, large-scale operations environment and/or multi-sided marketplace
• Experience working directly with product/engineering teams on scalable process solutions
