Job Description
The Mid Level DevSecOps Engineer position is embedded in a multidisciplinary implementation team. This team is tasked with creating and deploying solutions under tight time frames. The team supports the United States Department of Defense. The ideal candidate will be a battle-hardened DevSecOps or site reliability engineer. They will be flexible and willing to learn. They will gain a little expertise in all of the team’s roles in order to better integrate. This position is part of an implementation team. The team members possess DevOps, security, and software engineering skill sets. Everyone wears multiple hats and works together without silos in order to get the job done.
Job Duties:- Provide technical guidance to the team.
- Contribute to the architecture development and expanding DevSecOps capabilities.
- Work to improve developer and user efficiency.
- Responsible for delivering working systems that come complete with test cases and documentation. These systems will support a containerized, orchestrated, multi-component environment. This environment primarily leverages Kubernetes with a service mesh, such as ISTIO.
- This role is characterized by predominantly fast-paced prototyping work. The tempo is backed by occasional routine enterprise development and documentation tasks depending on the operational requirements of the week.
- This position may require a US Government Clearance, which requires US Citizenship
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years experience working with CI/CD techniques using DevOps technology, automated configuration management, microservices orchestration, and cloud platforms
- ISTIO
- Hashicorp Vault
- Elastic-stack
- Ansible
- Cloud such as AWS
- Systems administration
- Microservice architecture and “12 factor app”
- 3-5 years experience with Docker, or similar containerization/virtualization software.
- Container technologies such as Docker, Cri-O, Containerd
- Kubernetes (container orchestration)
- 3-5 years experience programming or scripting in a major language
- Familiarity with JS applications (React/Redux)
- Python and/or Go
- 3-5 years experience with cybersecurity such as hardening systems and compliance regimens
- 1-3 years of software defined networking, ephemeral computing concepts, and providing technical leadership
- Position will require occasional travel within NC and/or TX and/or DC region
- Active US Government Security Clearance preferred
- Have military or previous DOD consulting experience
