Job Description:
The PayPal P2P Services team is leading the way in developing the next generation money movement platform that will be used by millions of users
across the globe. The P2P Services team is looking for a highly motivated software engineer to lead the design and development of Java-based application level software. This software provides the key functionality for PayPal users to send money to others, split bills, or manage their money into and out of PayPal. As part of this team, you will be responsible for the entire application development life-cycle including design, development, testing, maintenance and live support.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Build scalable, highly reliable product features
- Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to resolve ambiguity in requirements
- Apply problem solving and analytical skills to variety of issues
- Interact with cross functional teams to produce win-win solutions
- Estimate engineering effort and come up with realistic schedules
- Identify and resolve complex production issues
- Document best practices and help create knowledge base
- Excellent communication and relationship skills. Ability to understand and articulate both technical and business issues with peers, management, and external teams.
Qualifications:
- Expert in Java language development
- Proficient in REST, JSON, SQL, JUnit
- Experience with C++, JavaScript and node.js highly desirable
- Good grasp of software design and design principles
- BSCS (or equivalent) plus 4+ years of professional related experience or Master's Degree
