This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Naval Power Customer Account Director based in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of advanced defense systems, strategic international customer engagement, and long-term naval capability development. You will serve as the primary representative for a complex naval power portfolio, building deep relationships with senior defense stakeholders and government agencies. The position requires a strong ability to translate operational needs into actionable business opportunities across maritime and air defense domains. You will lead customer engagement strategies, identify capability gaps, and shape future requirements in collaboration with technical and program teams. Operating in a highly mission-driven and secure environment, you will play a critical role in strengthening defense partnerships and expanding strategic programs. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on trust-building, influence, and growth within a global defense context.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for driving strategic customer engagement and business development activities across key naval defense stakeholders, ensuring alignment between customer needs and advanced capability offerings. You will act as the senior-facing representative for the naval power portfolio, supporting long-term pipeline growth and mission-critical programs.

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior defense and government stakeholders to position the organization as a strategic partner
  • Identify maritime and air defense capability gaps and translate them into actionable business and program opportunities
  • Support capture strategies, priority pursuits, and long-term franchise growth initiatives across naval power programs
  • Collaborate with engineering, program, and functional teams to develop integrated, customer-aligned solutions
  • Contribute to multi-year planning, bookings targets, and portfolio growth strategies
  • Coordinate with international partners, in-country teams, and external stakeholders to support program execution and expansion
  • Engage in market shaping activities with government relations teams to support emerging technologies and defense priorities
  • Represent the organization in high-level discussions with defense agencies and military leadership
  • Requirements

    This position requires extensive experience in aerospace, defense, or naval systems, along with strong customer engagement capabilities in complex, high-stakes environments. You should bring deep domain expertise, credibility with government stakeholders, and the ability to influence strategic outcomes.

    • 12–14+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, naval systems, or related government/military sectors
    • Background in naval operations, defense acquisition, or maritime systems (e.g., radar, missile systems, shipboard defense platforms)
    • Strong understanding of defense procurement processes, including DCS/FMS frameworks
    • Experience working with senior government or military stakeholders and translating requirements into executable strategies
    • Proven ability to build and maintain high-level customer relationships in complex geopolitical environments
    • Strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills
    • Experience collaborating across engineering, program management, and business development teams
    • Ability to operate effectively in a highly regulated and security-sensitive environment
    • U.S. citizenship and active Secret-level security clearance required
