This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vice President, Public Sector Growth based in the United States.
This is a senior commercial leadership role responsible for driving public-sector expansion strategy and revenue growth across state, local, and education markets. You will lead the full lifecycle of complex government opportunities, from early-stage market identification and stakeholder engagement through procurement, negotiation, and contract execution. The role is highly strategic yet hands-on, requiring an operator who can personally originate opportunities and convert them into long-term partnerships. You will build and manage a robust pipeline of public-sector deals while shaping go-to-market strategy in a rapidly scaling healthcare environment. Acting as a key external representative, you will engage with senior government stakeholders, policymakers, and ecosystem partners to unlock new funding and partnership opportunities. This is a high-impact position suited for a seasoned public-sector growth leader passionate about improving healthcare access and outcomes for families.
Accountabilities:
- Own and lead the public-sector growth strategy across state, local, Medicaid, and education markets, ensuring consistent pipeline generation and revenue expansion.
- Identify, originate, and develop new public-sector opportunities through direct engagement with government stakeholders, consultants, and industry partners.
- Lead end-to-end pursuit execution, including opportunity qualification, strategy development, stakeholder mapping, and contract conversion.
- Manage a multi-year pipeline of public-sector opportunities, ensuring strong forecasting, stage discipline, and win-rate optimization.
- Develop and execute competitive pursuit strategies for RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, grants, and other procurement processes.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with state agencies, Medicaid programs, education systems, and public-sector leaders.
- Partner with external advisors, including lobbyists, consultants, and government affairs firms, to support growth initiatives.
- Represent the organization at industry events, policy forums, and government stakeholder engagements.
- Expand existing public-sector partnerships through new services, funding streams, and geographic or programmatic growth.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to align proposals, implementation plans, and long-term account success.
- 10+ years of experience in public-sector healthcare, Medicaid, government contracting, healthcare consulting, or enterprise healthcare business development.
- Proven track record of originating and closing complex public-sector deals that generate significant revenue impact.
- Deep expertise in state Medicaid systems, behavioral health funding structures, and government procurement processes.
- Strong experience managing full-cycle government sales or partnership lifecycles from origination through execution.
- Demonstrated success leading RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, grants, and other public procurement mechanisms.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across government agencies and ecosystems.
- Experience building and managing complex pipelines with forecasting accountability and growth targets.
- Ability to operate independently in a high-autonomy, high-accountability leadership environment.
- Strong understanding of policy, funding mechanisms, and public-sector healthcare transformation trends.
- Experience managing external partners such as government affairs advisors, consultants, and strategic ecosystem stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed for stakeholder engagement and deal execution.
- Competitive base salary of $200,000–$236,000 USD plus equity participation.
