Neurologist Opportunity – VA Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA

**Eligible for $200,000 in student loan repayment**
The VA in Pittsburgh seeks a highly qualified Neurologist (board certified/eligible preferred) to provide all services required in the practice of Neurology at the Pittsburgh VA Healthcare System. Practice Highlights:
- Provides direct patient-centered care as delineated in the list of clinical privileges for Neurology.
- Provides comprehensive general neurological care to outpatients, including patient history, neurological examination, diagnosis, follow-up as needed, medical record documentation according to standard and acceptable practices.
- Assimilates the results of diagnostic studies (i.e., EMG, EEG) into the formulation of a differential diagnosis and treatment plan.
- Works collaboratively with other specialists and Primary Care PACT teams to ensure patients receive continuous quality care.
- Prescribes medications according to federal and state law.
- Responsible for the oversight of all aspects of neurologic care delivered to their assigned patients.
- Perform neurologic procedures, such as NCS/EMG, EEG interpretation, and/or Botox administration, commensurate to his/her individual training and expertise, in accordance with local VA credentialing and privileging requirements.
- Provide education to other physicians and healthcare professionals regarding neurological disorders and their treatments.
- Provide education, supervision, and mentoring to medical students, residents, and fellows in neurological disorders and their treatments.
- Participate in inpatient, outpatient subspecialty duties as assigned, including on-call assignments.
Basic Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine degree or equivalent degree from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
