Role

Our New Business team is responsible for bringing in new business across the US with a focus on institutional companies including hedge funds asset managers investment banks and CLO managers. The team establishes business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry.

Our team is based in our New York City office and operates on a hybrid 3 days/week schedule.

New Business responsibilities

  • Establish business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analyzing sales options
  • Manage all facets of the sales cycle to exceed annual targets including pitching demoing negotiating and closing deals
  • Identify competitive advantages by understanding how current subscribers leverage our products
  • Interface with prospects and communicate the value of all Octus products

What we look for

  • 2+ years experience in a quota-carrying full-cycle new business / new logos sales role with demonstrated ability to hit and exceed targets
  • Experience selling financial research analytics or data (preferably credit) to the buyside and/or sell side
  • Organized detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and respond quickly; ability to keep on top of all requirements with multiple ongoing workstreams
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment

At Octus we consider a range of factors in connection with compensation decisions including experience skills location and our business needs and limitations. As a result compensation may vary within and across similar roles and positions. Please note that the salary range information below is a good faith estimate for this position and actual compensation for any individual may fall outside this range if warranted by the circumstances applicable to that individual. If we identify a role that would be suitable for a broader range of skills and experience such that we would consider hiring at multiple levels then the range listed below may reflect that breadth.

The salary range estimate for a New Business Sales Executive is $110000 - $135000 plus monthly commission.

The actual compensation will be at Octus’ sole discretion and will be determined by the aforementioned and other relevant factors.
