Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to patients, focusing on acute care needs and preventive health measures. This role involves assessing patient health, diagnosing conditions, and implementing treatment plans while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the provision of comprehensive care for patients referred to the Neurology Service. Care provided by the APRN is directed toward health promotion, disease prevention, management of acute episodic problems and stable chronic conditions. The APRN is
expected to provide care to a cohort of patients who range in age from young adults (age 18 or more) to old adults (age 85 or more) and include men and women.
The major functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Nurse Practitioner program with a Masters or Doctoral level degree as a Nurse Practitioner. provides evidence based care for a population of patients.
1. Provides clinical coverage as part of the Neurology outpatient clinic team for
inpatients/outpatients within the Neurology Service under 100% concurrent supervision by
outstanding neurologist.
2. The APRN is expected to provide telephone care / consultation and may provide clinical video
telehealth (CVT) care.
3. The APRN is expected to cover other MD or APRN staff in event of an unanticipated absence
depending upon his/her clinic volume at that time
4. The APRN is expected to assist with consult review and resolution including working with
referring providers from all TVHS clinical locations.
5. The APRN is expected to take a leadership role regarding resource management in a manner
which optimizes patient care and fiscal responsibility for the division and TVHS.
6. The APRN is expected to meet the needs of customers while supporting the VA mission in a manner respectful of the patients, family, significant others, fellow employees and the institution.
7. The APRN is expected to engage in activities which improve the functioning of the Neurology Service including quality assessments, joint commission preparation and review as well as facilitating quality improvement within the division.
8. The APRN must be able to utilize the VA computerized medical record platform and perform timely documentation in accordance with business office regulations.
9. The APRN may practice in both inpatient and outpatient activities as directed by policy and privileged practice.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $97,000.00 - $140,087.00 per year
