General Summary of PositionDelivers a superior new-hire experience by providing a high level of customer service and maintaining quality throughout the pre-employment on-boarding process from the time the offer letter is signed, until after the associate begins employment. Responsible for the timely completion of full cycle onboarding process for new associates beginning their career with MedStar Health as well as current associates transitioning to new roles with the system.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with standard onboarding practices and procedures.
  • Follows-up with appropriate departments/vendors/candidates at various of stages of process to ensure required documentation is accurate and timely.
  • Maintains HR electronic files and records, assists with human resources support activities.
  • May answer questions regarding general employment practices, employee benefits, and other HR policies.
  • Monitors and reviews all returned employment documents and final review of employment application, immigration, background checks, pre-employment health screen, required training, etc., for necessary completion prior to moving to next step in the hire process.
  • Partners with recruiters to send, receive, and track required pre-employment documentation for new hires; communicates with hiring managers, recruiters, Occupational Health, and new hires on an ongoing basis.
  • Responds to questions and requests from internal and external customers.
  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of associate employment files.
  • Responsible for preparation of new hire paperwork for orientation and entry into HRIS system.
  • Responsible for the successful and timely on-boarding of all new hires once final offer is accepted and the associate attends orientation. Proactively identifies barriers to timely new hire onboarding and engages new hires and/or additional team members as needed to resolve.
  • Responsible for successful follow up and timely transfer of current internal associates moving to new roles with MedStar Health, to include proper confirmation of all required documentation and entry into HRIS system.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate completion of assigned duties.
  • Stays in constant communication with candidates, recruiters and hiring managers to ensure timely completion of all required steps of the hiring process.
  • Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts.
  • Participates in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement teams.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    Education

    • Associate's degree required or
    • equivalent combination of relevant experience and education. required

    Experience

    • 1-2 years Recent experience in high volume scheduling, administrative required or
    • Similar human resources experience required

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, organizational skills, accountability/ownership, and effective communication skills.
    • Ability to adhere to detail, accuracy and thoroughness.
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills for effective communication with new hires/transferring associates.
    • Ability to effectively multi-task and work under strict deadlines.
    • Knowledgeable of HR and payroll processes helpful.
    • Proficient in MS Office applications, including, Outlook, Word and Excel.
