Outbound Manager

The Outbound Manager will be responsible for directing and managing the successful flow of the outbound department while assisting the team to ship all orders on time and be the main point of contact for shipment updates to the rest of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Manage outbound shipments from Kitsch to support retail and DTC shipments.
  • Create ad hoc reports and analysis relating to logistics: i.e. shipping volume via all transportation modes, costs, lead times, others reports as needed.
  • Maintaining data reports and shipment schedules for all outbound shipments.
  • Analysis of logistics data to provide suggestions for the most cost-efficient modes of transportation and reduction of lead times.
  • Maintaining current and creating new logistics KPIs as needed.
  • Lead logistics projects to improve lead times and cost reductions.
  • Spot check orders for accuracy and quality
  • This individual will be the first point of contact for all outbound staff including picking, packing and outbound updates.
  •  Assist, oversee, delegate, and manage all internal warehouse outbound employees.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage workforce to meet daily operational demands including training, certifications and qualifications while improving employee productivity.
  • Manage coordination of all packers and ensure product integrity before it ships out.
  • Problem-solving with the pickers on orders and past due orders
  • Coordinate carriers and carriers schedules
  • Responsible for ensuring proper safety protocols are being followed by all staff.
  • Assist in ensuring all items being shipped out are accurate.
  • Help manage and lead day-to-day operations for outbound logistics.
  • Leads by example, motivates and disciplines crew being managed as needed.
  • Monitor team performance and quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as required by the nature of the position or requested by management.

Qualifications

  • Maturity, good judgment, ability to influence, analytical and excellent communication skills
  • Understanding and experience working with shipments going to big-box retailers and distribution centers.
  • Experience working with domestic carriers and have strong analytical skills
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2-5+ years of relevant work experience in logistics, warehouse operations or related field
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to lead, direct, change, and manage
  • Strong business acumen, oral, analytical, and written communication skills
  • Excellent excel skills
