SMEs account for most businesses worldwide and are critical contributors to job creation and global economic development. They represent about 90% of businesses and more than 50% of employment worldwide. Despite this, more than three quarters (77%) of SME businesses last year were unable to secure the traditional bank financing they desperately needed to grow and thrive. This has created a $5 trillion funding gap for SMEs globally.

Through this, Liberis provides partners with the technology and financial solutions necessary to offer personalised and accessible funding to their small business customers.

The role


As the Partner Manager, North America with Liberis, you will be responsible for managing the relationships with our key strategic partners in the US and Canada and delivering on the growth targets set. You will create the overall strategy with the partner and maximize the growth of the partnerships.


You will be a leader in our US office, encouraging collaboration among cross functional teams – while being the voice of the partner.  You will be a key part of the Liberis culture in the US – and be passionate about helping small businesses thrive – while learning and having fun at the same time.

  • You build strong relationships – and are comfortable influencing internal and external stakeholders. You know how to build consensus and drive decision making using data and facts to support your position. You have experience managing and growing large and strategic partnerships in the payments or fintech field.

Your Responsibilities


  • Manage and grow the business with our North American partners. Act as the subject matter expert on embedded finance to identify new opportunities for growth and product development
  • Drive all key commercial engagement and be the owner of performance results. Establish and exceed commercial targets for growth
  • Increase the audience for the product within the partner, either through international expansion or unlocking existing opportunities
  • Build a joint Liberis/Partner Account Plan. Align the priorities of Liberis and the partner and engage stakeholders for support in deliver where necessary.
  • Develop relationships with our Partners key stakeholders, within all levels of their organisation.
  • Work with Product & Tech to ensure key commercial drivers, where their support is needed, are prioritised on the wider Liberis Product Roadmap
  • Ensure regular communication between Liberis and the Partner through hosting weekly stakeholder calls, monthly performance reviews and quarterly steering committees.
  • Own the partner budget and work with analytics to track all key performance metrics, and process for sharing with the partner to maximise transparency


We think you'll need


  • Proven experience (we expect this to be 5+ years) in partnerships or strategic account management within the fintech, banking, lending or payments space
  • A proven track record of growing the business with a large strategic partners. Knowledge and experience in the payments and financing industry. Comfortable with the key players in the payments and lending landscape – especially acquirers and payment facilitators.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate Liberis’ value proposition and comfort presenting to large groups and C-level executives
  • Ability to quickly build, manage and sustain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Analytical skills to insights that guide systems and process improvements with partners
  • Collaborative approach and comfort working in a dynamic team environment, including tight interaction with Marketing, Technology, Operations and Product teams
