The Patient Support Advocate is an integral part of the team of professionals caring for patients.  They advocate for patients, by supporting patients with their healthcare coverage. Your role is to provide support for our patients by helping them navigate through insurance benefits, educate them on their plan, properly advise them on healthcare coverage options and assist with any billing questions. Patients navigate through insurance options and bills. They also serve as a key connection to our in-clinic concierge team.

How you can make a difference:

  • Have basic knowledge of Medicare, Medicare Advantage and insurance eligibility they have questions or need assistance over the phone or in person with health care coverage, clinical quality concerns, or any other issue that could prevent patients from getting quality, compassionate care
  • Provide exceptional, compassionate customer service over the phone
  • Educate patients on the importance of primary care provider assignment or Medicare Voluntary Alignment
  • Assist with scheduling Medicare Annual Wellness Visits
  • Reach out to patients for patient retention efforts
  • Support patients with staying engaged with their health care provider by reviewing and understanding the social determinants of health effecting patient outcomes
  • Assist and advocate for patients in navigating healthcare resources within and outside of Village Medical
  • Educate patients on insurance coverage available through different forms of insurance
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience to drive change:

  • Customer service mentality and desire to help patients solve problems
  • Experience with health insurance and eligibility preferred
  • 2+ years of experience working in a call center required, healthcare or health plan industry preferred
  • Experience working in a remote (work from home) environment preferred
  • High school graduate or GED
  • US work authorization
