As a Payroll Analyst you will be a key member of our growing Finance/Accounting team. You are detail-oriented and eager to manage the full payroll process from start to finish in our growing global organization. You are a self-starter who is looking to build your career while also leveling up the business. You will implement and maintain an efficient payroll process that complies with all federal provincial and state regulations in addition to international requirements.

This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.

What we're looking for:

• 2+ years experience in a payroll administration role or related with experience in compliance and year end reporting

• High attention to detail with the demonstrated ability to spot inconsistencies and proactively share them with team members

• Experience working with sensitive and confidential information

• Strong problem solving skills with a demonstrated experience in solving multi-state payroll tax issues

• Experience working with payroll tax filing systems

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with Excel including VLOOKUP and pivot tables generating reports and reviewing large data sets for reasonability

What you can expect:

• Support the payroll team by managing the payroll inbox assisting with payroll processing reporting and other project or administrative tasks

• Serve as the first point of contact for payroll questions and queries from employees manage escalations and be proactive in communicating payroll related changes/updates

• Assist with payroll processing for US & Global entities

• Work with cross functional teams (People IT etc.) to help resolve operational inefficiencies that impact the payroll team and its processes

• Support efforts to ensure company compliance by conducting research and analysis on global tax matters. Collaborate with the team to develop solutions and resolve any issues that may arise

• Collaborate with HR and IT on terminations and leave of absence payment schedules and confirmations pension updates/changes etc. in preparation for payroll processing

• Prepare reports and filings (e.g. Records of Employment Provincial workers' compensation remittances etc.) and fulfill ad hoc report requests ensuring documents are sent out in a timely matter with a high degree of accuracy

• Participate in projects that help enhance the employee experience improve payroll processes etc. with support from the payroll team and Finance leadership

USA-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $68000 USD and $92000 USD plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health dental 401k and many others) utilization of our generous paid time off an equity grant and where applicable participation in our incentive programs.

Canada-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $67000 CAD and $91000 CAD plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health dental RRSP and many others) utilization of our generous paid time off an equity grant and where applicable participation in our incentive programs.
