Convene is searching for a Payroll Manager who will report to the Chief Accounting Officer and work closely with the People and Culture team. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage payroll functions including maintenance of payroll processing ensuring accuracy and timeliness of weekly payroll
  • System administration of Time Management module for tracking of employee hours
  • Overall processing of monthly benefits billing for company-wide programs
  • Performs monthly reconciliations and analysis of payroll and benefits related general ledger accounts
  • Partner with the People & Culture department to set up new pay groups in current states and new states, issue annual W-2s and any department of labor inquiries and audits
  • Provides accounting support to Accounting team for month end close, payroll journal entries and accruals
  • Responsible for tracking and reconciliation of PTO accruals 
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining internal controls and standard operating procedures for all payroll and benefits billing processing
  • Act as a liaison between the company, payroll processing company (ADP) and property teams to meet information needs and to ensure that proper information is maintained for historical purposes
  • Responsible for distribution of paychecks.
  • Responsible for monitoring the Payroll email account so that inquiries are addressed in a timely manner
  • Ad-hoc financial analyses and participation in projects as required
  • Work with Corporate Controller and other managers in Finance department on special projects

What We Look For: 

  • Strong payroll processing foundation & solid knowledge of payroll and pay master role principles, practices and procedures
  • Minimum of 5-7 years multi-state payroll processing experience is required plus global payroll experience
  • Prior experience with ADP
  • Solid computer skills, inclusive of Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Experience working in General Ledger systems preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
  • Good presentation skills for educating internal clients
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Driven, self-starter; thrives working in a rapidly changing environment
  • Enjoyment in fast-paced, high growth, work environments

Base Salary:

Salary Min: $100,000 Salary Max: $110,000

This role is also eligible for Convene's annual incentive performance bonus plan.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
