Payroll Specialist

Labcorp is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist to execute all aspects of our payroll functions. This role involves handling payroll entries, processing weekly payrolls, managing on-demand check requests, and conducting audits to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Payroll Weekly Runs:
  • Process weekly payrolls accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Handle payroll entries and adjustments, ensuring data integrity and compliance with company policies.
  • Process on-demand check requests as needed.
• Data Processing:

• Process EIB's, ensuring proper balancing.
• Review and enter pay items accurately into the payroll system.

Reporting and Auditing:

• Run and analyze payroll reports to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Conduct regular audits of payroll data to verify accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely manner.

HR Central Tasks:

• Respond to inquiries and tasks related to HR Central, providing support and resolving issues as needed.
• Maintain and update payroll-related documentation and records.

Compliance and Record Keeping:

• Ensure payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll information.

REQUIREMENTS

• 2-3+ years of proven payroll experience preferred.
• Great Excel skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Systems experience, preferably Workday & ADP SmartCompliance.
• Good time management and prioritization skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Due to the nature of this position, candidates must reside on Eastern or Central time zones.
• Candidates close to Burlington, NC office preferred.
• This position requires a hybrid onsite schedule for those within 35 miles of the Burlington office. Otherwise, this position can be remote.

EDUCATION

• Payroll or Accounting Qualification is preferred but not required.
• Degree is preferred but not required.

Pay Range: $15-24 hourly

All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
