People Operations Manager (m/f/x) - freelance/12-months contract

The Opportunity:

We're looking for temporary support, based in Germany,  for our People Operations Team. Our successful candidate will be responsible for supporting commercetools' various entities globally and will have the opportunity to drive a variety of People-related projects from inception to completion.

Your Mission:

• You will be the contact person for our managers and employees and will be supporting with an array of HR issues, including labor and social security law
• You will be responsible for the successful consultation and implementation of operational HR processes across our different entities globally (e.g. contracts, certifications, on-and-off-boarding, etc.) 
• You will be supporting the preparation of payroll for Germany, international entities and partners (Australia, Singapore, Spain, UK, Netherlands, Switzerland, France, etc.)
• Supporting relocation and visa cases
• Maintenance of our HR tool - Personio
• Further development and implementation of our processes, projects, policies, guidelines and strategy
• Working in close collaboration with our team of experts within the People & Organization department

What you need to succeed:

• Completed studies with a focus on human resources or a commercial apprenticeship with additional training as a personnel specialist
• Ideally at least three years of professional experience as HR generalist in an intercultural and international working environment
• Experience with freelancers and remote work
• Very good knowledge of labor and social security law
• Secure handling of the common MS Office applications 
• Very good German and English language skills in spoken and written
• Empathic personality with very good communication skills and assertiveness
• Confident appearance and strong service orientation
• Organizational talent who can structure themselves independently, work reliably and keep an eye on deadlines
• High level of personal initiative and proactive attitude in overcoming challenges
