Our team strives to create an equitable, inclusive, growth-oriented environment for all of our team members, known affectionately as Labsters. As People Operations Specialist, you will be an integral part of this small but mighty team as we continue to establish and maintain best practices, and create an environment where people are excited to Â
As a People Operations Specialist, you will be crucial in ensuring the smooth and accurate handling of our team’s compensation and benefits programs. You will be responsible for preparing payroll, administering benefits, and supporting various other HR-related tasks. As our ideal candidate, you have a deep understanding of payroll best practices, tax regulations, and/or benefits administration. Your meticulous attention to detail, analytical mindset, and excellent communication skills will be instrumental in supporting our team. You will also assist in bringing the team together, whether for our Monthly Random Coffee chats or managing our company-wide calendar for various All-Hands events.
In your day-to-day, you will:Â
- Support essential business-as-usual operations (i.e., you'll support Payroll, Benefits, Employee Data Management, Contracting, Onboarding, etc.)
- Manage projects related to people operations, ensuring seamless execution and scalability of current and new initiatives that support the organization's growth, team productivity, and overall Labster employee experience
- Collaborate with the People, Finance, and Operations teams in implementing and upholding effective organizational policies and processes to support our hybrid, high-performing team in Seattle and across the U.S.Â
- Guide team members on people-process matters with efficiency and tact
- Interact and build relationships with our team and managers, unearthing opportunities to collaborate and improve the employee experienceÂ

You have a passion for inclusive teams and delivering exceptional team member experience.Â
 You also have some combination of the following:
- Have 5+ years of experience in a People, Operations, Payroll, or Benefits Administration role with a focus on creating organizational and operational efficiencies
- A passionate about building and championing inclusive and equitable employee practices
- Strong project management skills with experience driving projects from beginning to end
- Have experience and proficiency using HRIS and Payroll systems
- Have used Google Suite, Notion, Slack, and/or other current tech tools
- Are a great communicator with skills and experience interfacing with all levels of an organization
- Are self-motivated, action-oriented, and eager to learn - you are constantly looking for opportunities to improve your craft and are receptive to feedback
- Are detail-oriented with strong follow-up and follow-through skills
- Have a proven track record to juggle and prioritize multiple time-sensitive tasks

As a startup, we strive to be externally competitive with companies at a similar size and stage, and internally fair in our pay practices. The hiring salary range for this role is $78,000 - $92,000Â and represents the target offer range given the scope and experience expectations for this role.
