Integral to our team, the Manager, Permitting will serve as the day to day technical and program lead for all permitting activities. This role reports to the Director of Due Diligence and Permitting.
What you might do in your first year:
- Assumes a lead role in the programming and planning of permitting activities.
- Manages permitting expeditor or 3rd party permitting consultants.
- Engages and manages any other permitting consultants during due diligence, predesign and permitting phases.
- Facilitates and oversees permitting investigation reports & deliverables.
- Reviews permitting deliverables and documentation received for completeness and accuracy and provides input to Design and Construction related to potential issues or local requirements.
- Works closely with Architects and Engineers to understand and overcome any zoning and municipality requirements.
- Identifies and addresses potential liabilities and risks related to permitting requirements or timelines.
- Drives high-level planning, coordination and critical path milestone tracking for the permitting phase.
- Identifies, tracks sand manages risks for permitting deliverables and functions. Conveys critical path milestones to Director of Permitting.
- Tracks and reports on key milestones and business metrics. Provide regular and ad hoc status updates on schedule, scope, vendor, and program outcomes.
- Develop, refine, and continually update process workflows for the permitting scope.
- Ensures that VP and Directors are fully and accurately informed of all permitting related issues.
- Any and all other duties and tasks assigned.
What you bring to VillageMD:
- 5-10 years of experience as Sr Manager or Manager or Program Manager on retail multi-site roll outs.
- Experience with full scope permitting deliverables in a multi-site, multi-year pipeline.
- Experience with Smartsheets.
- Ability to regularly communicate analyzed data to client and team to achieve strategic account project goals.
- Strong working knowledge of architectural and engineering drawings and construction concepts.
- Highly organized with strong analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients as well as external team members (architects, contractors, stakeholders, etc.).
- Previous experience effectively supervising, training, mentoring and evaluating talent at various levels within the organization or team.
- Ability to lead individuals across a national platform to deliver superior results in client service.
- Face to face and/or remote daily interpersonal interaction is usually required in order to perform the job.
- Travel as needed, role is expected to be Remote Work, minimal construction site visits.

For Colorado Residents only: The target hiring compensation range for this role is $100,000 to $125,000. At VillageMD, compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. This role may be eligible for annual/quarterly bonus incentives (if applicable), and the selected candidate will be eligible for a valuable company benefits plan, including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and access to a 401k plan with company match.
