Position Summary
Reporting to the Field CTO, Platform Engineers ensure our sellers have the most compelling demo environments for Deepwatch’s Platform, Services and Software.
If you are passionate about building information security value through high quality detection and response capabilities and being on the edge of modern attacks, this role will put you in a position to have a blast while stretching your technical skills. The outcomes of this role have a measurable impact on the company in how we demonstrate our value to our prospective customers.
In this role, you’ll get to:
- Leverage your prior Cybersecurity SOC Analyst (or similar) experience and Security Operations and Network Architecture knowledge to establish yourself as a hands-on, subject matter expert
- Be able to explain network & system architectures and dataflows to customers and document walkthroughs of security use cases with simulated attack data
- Know how to detect bad actors so you can create scripts, videos, presentations and lab content that resonates with SOC analysts and shows how Deepwatch keeps our customers safe
- Possess Splunk engineering certifications or demonstrate depth of Splunk knowledge, including SPL, administration, architecture and data ingestion to help build content use cases & maintain the demo environment
- Have familiarity with JSON, Python, and API tools such as Postman to build detection content and data generation tools like Mockaroo
- Exhibit a love of learning new technology and a desire to maintain awareness of current trends in cyber attacks, defenses, and detection capabilities
- Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills to support technical presentations and demonstrations
- Apply a methodical approach to manage project tasks in a disciplined manner
- Possess the level of knowledge typically associated with a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering) and or equivalent experience
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to:
- Leverage your prior Cybersecurity experience to establish yourself as a hands-on, subject matter expert and help the sales team create scripts, videos and presentations that show the capabilities Deepwatch uses to keep our customers safe:
- Be a hands-on expert with a love of learning new technology
- Ability to explain network & system architectures and dataflows to customers
- Document walkthroughs of security use cases with simulated attack data
- Establish yourself as a subject matter expert, by remaining current with information security news, techniques and trends to:
- Leverage your communication skills to support technical presentations and demonstrations
- Maintain awareness of current trends in cyber attacks, defenses, and detection capabilities
- Apply a methodical approach to manage project tasks in a disciplined manner
- Demonstrate Splunk depth, including SPL, administration, architecture and data ingestion to help build content use cases & maintain the demo environment
- Know how to detect bad actors so you can create the right content that works in a lab and resonates with other analysts
- Familiarity with JSON, Python, and API tools such as Postman to build detection content
- Experience with data generation tools like Mockaroo
- Working knowledge of Security Operations and Network Architecture
- Be a self starter who can effectively manage project tasks in a methodical and disciplined manner
- Strong technical acumen to support technical presentations and demonstrations
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills with technical topics
- Remain current with information security news, techniques, and trends
- Current (or prior) SOC Analyst Cybersecurity Experience - must be able to demonstrate knowledge on how to create content to detect bad actors
- Splunk engineering certifications desired
- Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field (Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering) or equivalent experience
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background and drug screen in accordance with applicable laws
Colorado* Candidates:
(Colorado only*) Salary range for this role is $140,000 to $175,000. You may also be eligible for incentive pay, equity, and/or benefits.
