About the role:
The Raft team is looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager to support the Air Force Portfolio of products and programs and partner with other Product Managers and the Program Director to deliver above and beyond customer expectations. You’ll have the opportunity to work with progressive government customers creating innovative solutions that address new and evolving customer needs that will have high impact to mission readiness. The following is a high-level overview of the roles and responsibilities but may not capture all the nuances of this role.
What we are looking for:
- The Portfolio Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of Air Force contracts (both existing and new) and will be required to work across cross-functional teams to achieve objectives aligned with the customer’s initiatives and per contractual agreements
- Deeply understand the problem(s) being solved and become an expert on pain points and the vision of the program offices you are delivering upon
- Be a servant leader to your team
- Continuously measure the team performance across the portfolio so that you can take proactive measures as opposed to reactive
- Deliver exceptional value to the DoD and its customers
- Manage and ensure all contractual deliverables are being executed and executed on time
- Help track all program financials to include; burn rate, ceilings, and P&L
- Understand the Air Force ecosystem and customer needs to facilitate lateral and new growth across the programs
- Manage and report metrics that matter (outcomes over outputs)
- Partner with our recruiting team to hire top talent for the team based on the contract needs and timelines, including reviewing resumes and conducting interviews
- Proactively manage risks to projects and client relationships, ensuring a clear and measurable impact on client missions and increasing Raft’s reputation in the federal contracting domain
- Able to travel occasionally to support the customer
- Manage subcontractors and contract modifications
- Become a consultative professional that works with government stakeholders to identify creative solutions to contract hurdles

- Go-getter with a GSD mentality
- Program/Portfolio Manager that has managed multiple programs at one time
- A servant leader who puts the team and client’s needs first
- An outstanding communicator with a high level of integrity and leadership courage
- A self-starter that can recognize needs and act with little to no guidance
- Able to understand at a high level the technical needs of the client for each position
- A facilitator and coach adept at managing client relationships and organizing agile team activities for complex, mission-critical software projects
- Experience solving complex problems
Clearance Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
