POSITION SUMMARY:

This is the key administrative position for Prenatal Care Coordination, for the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Boston Medical Center; the largest safety net hospital in Boston. The Prenatal Program Coordinator will be responsible for meeting prenatal care ACO metrics and be the key administrative oversight for all prenatal services including antenatal testing unit and genetic counseling. The prenatal Program Coordinator will assist in the design of performance objectives and implement and monitor programming to meet desired outcomes.

Along with the medical director and operations managers, the program coordinator will plan for the needs of the clinic and other related duties. S/he will be the primary person responsible for managing access, continuity, and providing oversight for the provider schedules.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  • Assists in the development of short and long term plans for programs, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance
  • Supports the medical director in design of performance objectives and implements and monitors programming to meet desired outcomes
  • Meet ACO metrics regarding prenatal care guidelines, including outreach and triage to all positive pregnancy tests reported from BMC
  • Responsible for systemic improvement of referral coordination amongst the different services
  • Assist with coordination and administrative tasks for the Centering Pregnancy program
  • Serves as liaison between community health centers and BMC
  • Assist with administrative tasks for OB/GYN genetic counseling
  • Obtaining medical records from outside facilities when required
  • Coordinating patient transfers to outside hospitals
  • Organize training seminars to address staff education related to prenatal care coordination
  • Organizes and establishes meetings on regular basis with designated individuals to foster positive relationships
  • Ensures positive patient and provider experience
  • Manage the master list of "No Show" prenatal and ATU patients

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent combination of formal education and experience) required

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

  • None

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years related experience. Hospital experience is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to work independently and exercise excellent judgment
  • Superior professionalism and effective communication skills required
  • Superior organizational skills, project management experience a plus
  • Superior written and oral English language comprehension skills
