Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this role is a technical resource for the sales team responsible for ensuring successful deals by showcasing our product, running successful POC's (proof of concept programs), and working in close collaboration with our Product Management, Delivery and Engineering teams. The Presales Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle, and possess the technical aptitude to meet the business and technical objectives of the customer. In this role, you will be working with the sales team to create and present the OneView Commerce solution that will provide business benefits and maximize the value for our customers.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with prospects and customers to deepen relationships, find solutions, and close deals.
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the sales team to engage with prospects with the objective of driving sales by understanding the prospects' needs, defining the success criteria, providing solution related guidance and assisting with implementation plans.
  • Analyze customer's system architecture, prepare integration designs and project effort estimates, provide technical demonstrations to architects , technology leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for prospects during the sales process
  • Understand and align our software and service offerings to solve business problems and deliver ROI business value.
  • Keep up to date with Oneview technology, architecture changes and product features by collaborating with the Product Management, Product Delivery and Architecture teams.
  • Coordinate requirements for proof of concept customer projects with Product Management and Product Delivery..
  • Responsible for staying up to date with the product roadmap as well as understanding the scenarios, features and functions within each of the products and how these are applied to address business and technical problems.
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings actively to report progress.
  • Must be willing to travel to client sites.

Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years of solutions consulting or comparable experience, preferably in cloud-based technology products.
  • Critical thinker with strong writing, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable presenting to multiple audiences including Line of Business, IT and "C" levels.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to understand and relate business processes from both a technical and functional standpoint.
  • Takes independent action to achieve goals; is self-directed and driving, but cooperates with others to share information, resolve issues and achieve goals.
  • 2-3 years of commercial web development experience with Javascript/Typescript.
  • 2-3 years of SQL and NoSQL database design and development experience.
  • Experience with modern software development infrastructure including git source control and CI/CD.
  • Comfortable in a fast paced, entrepreneurial company environment.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • High proficiency with client-side JavaScript frameworks (preferably React/Redux)
  • 1-2 years experience with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, and SNS/SQS or other public cloud providers like Google Cloud
  • 1-2 years of REST API development using Node.js
  • Experience with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) delivered products.
  • Experience with large scale cloud based databases like firestore, MongoDB etc.
