Meet the Team:Â
As a member of the Fleet Operations team you will function as Subject Matter/Process Expert in and drive initiatives focused on Problem Setting and Problem Solving (e.g. Delphi Method) that provide transformational improvement in operational reliability and efficiency of the product testing fleet. Implement an innovative measurement and analysis system to define and manage key metrics around operational reliability, effectiveness and efficiency. This will include but is not limited to: On-Road Test Top 10 Key Issues and Issue Management; Fuel Efficiency; Fleet Up-Time; Meantime to Return to Service; Response Time; Awaiting Parts Time; etc.Â
What you'll do:Â
- Develop a three-year strategic plan for Operational Reliability and Efficiency
- Define and implement the Fleet Ops organization for managing Operational Reliability and Efficiency
- Lead the development and implementation of a structured approach to Problem Setting and Problem Solving (e.g. Delphi Method) that provides transformational improvement in operational efficiency and becomes a Torc best practice
- Lead the development and implementation of a measurement and analysis system to define and manage key metrics that represent the operational reliability, effectiveness and efficiency. This will include but is not limited to: On-Road Test Top 10 Key Issues and Issue Management; Fuel Efficiency; Fleet Up-Time; Meantime to Return to Service; Response Time; Awaiting Parts Time; etc.
- Lead the development and implementation of a formal On-Road Test and Operations Risk Management System
- Become the gatekeeper of reliability risk during product development and confirmation drive phases, making data driven recommendations on how to effectively address reliability excursions and newly identified failure modes.
- Lead key technical collaboration initiatives with DTNA (Daimler Truck North America) to improve System Operational Reliability, Efficiency and Risk Management
- Provide supervision over engineers, analysts, and project managers
- Guide the teams goals and provide guidance and direction; be responsible for developing a growth plan and work in partnership with People OPS and Talent Acquisition in providing support to recruiting and screening candidates and promotionsÂ
What you’ll need to Succeed:Â
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Research or Business or equivalent professional experience
15+ years of progressive professional experience in implementation of comprehensive problem setting and problem solving, measurement, process optimization and risk management systems in an operational setting
- Experienced communicator with the ability to influence and motivate others to implement and maintain a culture of continuous improvement while working with people at all levels; must possess a passion and the ability to develop and grow colleagues to their highest potential

- Advanced technical or business degree preferred
- Certification as CRE, CQE or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt is a plus
