Microsoft Word is a household name and is the go-to tool for creating digital documents for hundreds of millions of users worldwide We are seeking a Principal Engineering Manager to focus on front-end user interaction and experience, for both content and chrome, across multiple browsers. You'll lead a compelling, experienced team of engineers across a breadth of technologies. You'll work in a customer-focused, hypothesis-driven fashion with multiple partner teams across Office, leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data to ensure we're building experiences customers need and love.

Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
o OR equivalent experience.

Preferred qualifications:
  • BS in computer science, or equivalent in related technical experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of software design and development.
  • Javascript / Typescript experience.
  • 1 year experience managing engineers or mentoring engineers.
  • Excellent problem solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to dive deep into the technical details, and to align those details with great customer experiences.
Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
