About the position:
The Financial Planning & Analysis Business Partner is responsible for financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and analytical support to the management team and senior business leaders under the supervision of the Director of FP&A. The incumbent will be the FP&A business partner and strategic advisor for Sales & Marketing.
The FP&A Business Partner will be the Finance subject matter expert and strategic advisor to our business partners and drive strategic projects, investment planning, forecasting, annual planning and ad-hoc projects, working closely with the FP&A leadership team and other key business stakeholders.
We are looking for a finance superstar who thrives in ambiguous environments, has a bias towards curiosity and action, and understands the “how and why” when analyzing trends or building investment recommendations. In this role, you are the finance business lead and strategic business partner for Sales & Marketing.
What you'll do:
- Be the subject matter expert and strategic business partner for the Sales & Marketing organization.
- Own the budgeting and forecasting processes for this function, including:
- Partnering with business to ensure accuracy for spend, headcount, and other key metrics based on operational performance.
- Preparing budget vs. actual variance analysis and other relevant reporting
- Leading thoughtful analysis, proactively evaluating key drivers and metrics, and partnering on driving operational efficiencies and performance
- Collaborating with the controllership organization on accruals and other elements of the close process
- Evolving these processes, as needed
- Participate in quarterly, annual and strategic planning, owning all inputs and assumptions for your business.
- Partner with the Sales & Marketing leadership on forecasting and monitoring key spend areas to assist in optimizing margins and unit economics.
- Assist with and manage frequent ad hoc projects, including M&A, to support senior management and business decisions.
- Lead process and systems improvement and scaling projects for your area and partner on cross functional teams, to drive the company’s continued growth and scaling.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Accounting or related field required.
- MBA, Big 4 accounting, or investment banking experience a plus
- Minimum of 6+ years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting.
- Proficiency with FP&A systems required, Anaplan experience is a plus.
- Advanced financial modeling, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills required.
- Proven ability to influence senior level stakeholders and be the sought-after finance expert / strategic advisor.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of precision.
- Ability to produce narratives and insights to various audiences (e.g., BOD, ELT, XFN partners, etc.)
- Demonstrated success with building and improving processes and promoting quality.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced dynamic environment and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and maneuvering through organizational hierarchies.
Other Success Factors:
- Prior experience in a high-growth high tech/software/SaaS organization is a plus.
- Prior experience owning relationship with key executive stakeholders.
- Expertise with Data Visualization (Tableau preferred)
- Very comfortable with change and challenging the status quo.
The annual gross base salary range for this position is $116,000 to $145,000. Actual compensation for this position may vary and will depend on multiple factors including relevant qualifications, experience, education and geographic location. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus dependent on various factors, including and without limitation, individual and company performance in addition to base salary.
