This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal, Internal Communications based in the United States.

This is a unique opportunity for a senior communications leader to shape and elevate internal communications across a large, fully distributed workforce. In this strategic leadership role, you will define communication frameworks, advise executive leaders on high-impact organizational initiatives, and deliver compelling messaging that strengthens employee engagement and organizational culture. Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, you'll develop communication strategies that support business priorities, change management, and employee experience. You'll balance long-term planning with hands-on execution while serving as the organization's leading expert on internal communications. This remote position offers the opportunity to influence company-wide initiatives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment where thoughtful communication is central to organizational success.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and lead the organization's internal communications strategy, establishing goals, KPIs, success metrics, and communication standards across all internal channels.
  • Create and deliver high-impact executive communications, including leadership messaging, organizational announcements, newsletters, and presentations for company-wide meetings.
  • Own the strategy, editorial planning, and production of internal newsletters and communication campaigns that inform, engage, and inspire employees.
  • Define best practices for communication platforms, editorial calendars, messaging consistency, and content quality across distributed teams.
  • Lead communication planning and content development for virtual all-hands meetings, employee events, and annual company retreats.
  • Partner with People, HR, and senior leadership to develop effective change management communications that support organizational initiatives and employee engagement.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to executive leaders on sensitive business matters, organizational changes, and high-visibility announcements.
  • Champion inclusive communication practices by ensuring messaging reflects diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and a positive employee experience.
  • Analyze communication effectiveness using data and employee feedback to continuously improve engagement and demonstrate business impact.
  • Requirements

    • 10+ years of progressive communications experience, including significant ownership of internal communications strategy within organizations of 150+ employees.
    • Demonstrated success advising executive leadership and managing communications for complex, high-impact organizational initiatives.
    • Extensive experience developing internal communication frameworks, success metrics, and long-term communication strategies.
    • Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and content development skills across a variety of communication formats and audiences.
    • Strong executive presence with the ability to navigate confidential, sensitive, and high-stakes situations with sound judgment and discretion.
    • Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities while balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution.
    • Deep understanding of employee engagement, organizational culture, change management, and communication best practices.
    • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility through thoughtful and inclusive communication.
    • Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills with experience working across distributed teams and multiple time zones.

      • Competitive annual salary ranging from $144,000 to $216,000, based on experience, qualifications, and internal compensation practices.
