We approach all aspects of 1Password with a design-first approach. Our team is composed of designers specializing in interface experience content design and research – all working together to make 1Password the best it can be.

We're seeking a Principal Product Designer to support our UX department and join as a core part of the leadership team. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior mid-level and senior designers and to guide creative and experience design across multiple product areas.

This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.

What we're looking for:

• A proven track record in a user experience leadership role (e.g. principal director etc) collaborating with senior product leaders.

• A portfolio of company-changing design work you led that tangibly shifted business performance or perspective.

• A mix of comfort getting hands-on with strong strategic thinking.

• Excellent communication and storytelling skills with the ability to articulate design concepts and strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Motivate and mentor teams to think innovatively and explore creative avenues for forward-thinking experiences rapid prototyping and pioneering first-to-market solutions.

• Demonstrated commitment to meticulous detail and taste including an understanding of their importance in delivering outstanding user experiences.

• Ability to identify new opportunities and produce innovative ideas to enhance our processes products and culture guiding design and research approaches.

• Drive cross-team connections and collaborations among the designers researchers program managers product operations and engineers from early product stages to implementation.

• Develop and guide strategic product vision work in collaboration with senior leaders.

What you can expect:

• Month 1

• Take stock of all the user experience workstreams happening across 1Password.

• Build initial relationships across product design and engineering.

• Begin to understand our customers problem spaces and North Star.

• Month 3

• Direct projects and guide and mentor people.

• Identify opportunities to connect feature work to the end-to-end experience.

• Guide work on our product vision.

• Month 6

• Operate as a key part of the design team taking ownership of areas that interest you and pushing their design forward to create a better product.

• Offer constructive feedback to peers on the team helping others to grow and develop alongside you.

USA-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $226000 USD and $306000 USD plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health dental 401k and many others) utilization of our generous paid time off an equity grant and where applicable participation in our incentive programs.

Canada-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $209000 CAD and $283000 CAD plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health dental RRSP and many others) utilization of our generous paid time off an equity grant and where applicable participation in our incentive programs.
